Brazil head coach Carlo Ancelotti admitted he was disappointed with his team’s result against Morocco.
The South Americans were held to an entertaining 1-1 draw by Morocco in their opening Group C fixture at the ongoing 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Battle For Crucial Points
Morocco stunned the Seleção when Brahim Diaz split the Brazil defence with a delightfully-weighted through ball which Ismael Saibari ran onto and lifted the ball beyond the on-rushing Alisson.
Vinicius Jr restored parity for Brazil two minutes after the half hour mark.

There looked to be little danger when Vinicius Jr was fed by Bruno Guimaraes wide and deep on the left of the penalty box, but he cut back inside and unleashed a blistering right-foot effort which rocketed beyond the helpless Yassine Bounou.
Ancelotti Unhappy With Stalemate
Ancelotti confessed that his side made a sluggish start to the encounter.
“I think we didn’t start very well, I’m a little worried. We lost a lot of duels and possession, but we improved in the second half of a difficult match, because Morocco is a good team,” Ancelotti was quoted by FIFA.com.
“In the first half, we had difficulty getting out of the pressure, we could have had more control. [Was I] Satisfied? Not really. I expected a better start. But things can happen. Now I’m going to focus on the next game.”
Brazil will face Haiti in their second Group C game at the Philadelphia Stadium on Saturday, 20 June, while Morocco will be up against Scotland.

Let him come and teach our sideways passing Ndidi how to play contemporary defensive midfield
Ayyoub Bouaddi na witch lol. Switched his nationality to Morocco only last month oh.
Meanwhile, one women’s national team coach believes the older a player is, the better. Life’s irony.
Little wonder our cadet teams have been killed by Gusau and his cahoots at NFF.
Imagine one under 20 coach abi under 17 said Yohanna now of Brighton was too young and fragile to play a world cup tournament because they are selling national team slots to the highest bidder.
It’s too late for Ndidi to learn new tricks but we’ve always known our midfield is problematic.
However, it’s a blessing we have a foreign coach who ultimately will not be people pleaser since he knows some crooks are after his life.
He’s tweaking his team and stylishly creating competition for places.
One more afcon and men will be separated from boys especially when African nations league “actually” debuts and nations cup turns every four years.
