Democratic Republic of Congo head coach Sebastian Desabre has praised his team’s performance in the victory over Uzbekistan, Completesports.com reports.
The Leopards rallied to beat Uzbekistan 3-1 in their Group K clash at the Atlanta Stadium on Sunday.
Uzbekistan took the lead through Eldor Shomurodov in the 10th minute.

Desabre’s side went in front 10 minutes later when substitute Meschack Elia’s shot was deflected into the path of fellow substitute Fiston Mayele, who calmly lifted the ball over Abduvohid Nematov and into the net.

Wissa added his second goal in injury time, producing a fine finish from the edge of the box to seal DR Congo’s progress as one of the best third-placed teams.

Desabre praised his players for showing character to fight back and win the game.
“We have to congratulate the players — they were the ones who were extraordinary. We’re a team that knows how to respond when we concede a goal; we keep fighting with determination,” Desabre was quoted by FIFA.com.
” We were a little more offensive today, and I’m glad everyone could see that we’re capable of scoring goals. That’s great. I have to congratulate my coaching staff as well; we’re really proud and happy for all Congolese people.”
DR Congo will face England in the Round of 32 in Atlanta on 1 July.
