Egypt boss Hossam Hassan has declared his team’s readiness to face any opponent at the FIFA World Cup 2026.
The Pharaohs booked their spot in the Round of 32 following a thrilling 1-1 draw with IR Iran on Saturday.
The Pharaohs made the perfect start with Mahmoud Saber slotting home from close range after Alireza Beiranvand could only parry Mohamed Salah’s deflected strike.
Mostafa Shobeir saved Mehdi Taremi’s spot kick in the ninth minute to help preserve Egypt’s lead.

Ramin Rezaeian however equalised for IR Iran five minutes later.
Egypt finished second in Group G behind Belgium,and will face Australia in the Round of 32.
Hassan Thrilled With Egypt’s Achievement
Hassan expressed pride after his side secured a place in the next round without suffering a defeat, calling it a great honour.
“We’re unbeaten and we’re proud of that. I said from the start that it would be a tough group stage. It’s an honour to get through to the next round. I’d like to thank my players, because they’ve brought immense joy to our fans,” Hassan was quoted by FIFA.com.
“I’m not thinking about our next opponent; we’re ready to play against anyone. We’re capable of playing our own style of football, of adapting, respecting every opponent. We won’t be afraid of anyone.”
