Romelu Lukaku has expressed disappointment with the outcome of Belgium’s FIFA World Cup 2026 clash with Iran.
Rudi Garcia’s side were held to a 0-0 draw by Iran in their second game of the tournament on Sunday night.
The Red Devils are still searching for their first victory of the tournament after being held to a 1-1 draw by Egypt in their opening Group G fixture.
Belgium dominated possession against Iran at the Los Angeles Stadium, controlling nearly 70 per cent of the ball and registering 23 shots, but were unable to break down a resilient Iranian defence.

Lukaku Points Way Forward
“We have to stay with the emotions, stay calm and keep our composure,” Lukaku said to FIFA.
“That is something that we have to improve on, I think the players know that as well.”
No Margin For Error Against New Zealand
Belgium must now win their last group game against New Zealand to have a chance of progressing to the Round of 32.
“Desire and commitment to the cause,” Lukaku said about what they need to bring to the table against the All Whites.
“It’s a World Cup, it’s the biggest tournament, the biggest stage. We don’t want to go home. We want to go as far as possible and we want to put ourselves in the greatest position. Let’s go for it!”
