Senegal winger Ismaila Sarr has expressed his disappointment following the Teranga Lions’ 3-2 defeat to Norway at the ongoing FIFA World Cup 2026.
Pape Thiaw’s side suffered their second loss of the competition in a thrilling encounter at the New York/New Jersey Stadium.
The defeat saw Norway join France in securing qualification for the Round of 32 from the group, leaving Senegal with a must-win clash against Iraq in their final group game to keep their knockout-stage hopes alive.

Holmgren Pedersen, and Manchester City star Erling Haaland were on target for Norway in the game.
Sarr, who netted both goals for Senegal in the closely contested match, admitted the result was difficult to take, but insisted the team remains focused on bouncing back.
“It was tough. We’re a little disappointed. But it’s not over yet, there’s still a third game to play. We’re going to go there to win it, and we’re going to work hard,” Sarr was quoted by FIFA.com.
