Senegal winger Ismaila Sarr has expressed his disappointment following the Teranga Lions’ 3-2 defeat to Norway at the ongoing FIFA World Cup 2026.
Pape Thiaw’s side suffered their second loss of the competition in a thrilling encounter at the New York/New Jersey Stadium.
The defeat saw Norway join France in securing qualification for the Round of 32 from the group, leaving Senegal with a must-win clash against Iraq in their final group game to keep their knockout-stage hopes alive.

Holmgren Pedersen, and Manchester City star Erling Haaland were on target for Norway in the game.
Sarr, who netted both goals for Senegal in the closely contested match, admitted the result was difficult to take, but insisted the team remains focused on bouncing back.
“It was tough. We’re a little disappointed. But it’s not over yet, there’s still a third game to play. We’re going to go there to win it, and we’re going to work hard,” Sarr was quoted by FIFA.com.

Asgard 3 Wakanda 2.
Can’t remember the last time Senegal in the Mane era lost 2 games back to back. Spanked 3-1 by France. Then falling to Norway, thanks largely to silly mistakes. Koulibaly’s schoolboy error would have embarrassed many school boys. How does a player with his experience make a mistake like that?
Well, all is not lost. Not yet.
They just have to beat Iraq to make the next round. But Iraq too know that a win likely takes them thru.
One of these two teams will be heading to the airport after the game.
