Uzbekistan captain Eldor Shomurodov has been voted the winner of the Best Group Stage Goal award at the ongoing FIFA World Cup 2026, Completesports.com reports.
Shomurodov, 31, won the award for his inch-perfect lob from a tight angle against Democratic Republic of Congo in Uzbekistan’s final group stage outing in Atlanta on 27 June.
The forward went home with an individual accolade despite Ecuador’s early exit from their debut FIFA World Cup adventure.

The Istanbul Başakşehir striker claimed 36 per cent of the vote.
Haiti’s Wilson Isidor came in second, with 26.5 per cent, ahead of Bosnia and Herzegovina’s Kerim Alajbegovic, with 24.9 per cent of the total tally.
According to FIFA, there will be four subsequent votes, following the same process after the Round of 32, Round of 16, quarter-finals and semi-finals (combined), and then a final vote at the end of the tournament.
