Xavi Breaks Zidane’s LaLiga Record In Barca’s Win At Mallorca

A Robert Lewandowski first half strike earned Barcelona a hard fought 1-0 win away to Mallorca in LaLiga on Saturday.

The result means Xavi Hernández has become the first ever manager to win his first 18 away fixtures without a single defeat.

Xavi has now beaten the record set by Zinedine Zidane after he took over at Real Madrid in 2016.

With 13 wins and five draws since his first road trip after replacing Ronald Koeman, a 3-1 win in Villarreal, Barça have been simply unstoppable on their Liga travels.

Meanwhile, Lewandowski’s goal against Mallorca made him the fastest player to score nine Liga goals in the 21st century.

He needed just seven games to achieve the feat and exactly half of his shots on target have ended in goals.
