Alhassan Yusuf has expressed his delight after playing a starring role in New England Revolution’s emphatic 3-0 victory over DC United.
The Nigeria international was the hero of the encounter at Audi Field in Washington, scoring all three goals for the visitors.
Yusuf struck twice in the first half to put the Revolution firmly in control of the contest before completing his hat-trick six minutes after the hour mark.
The midfielder’s impressive display helped Marko Mitrović’s side secure maximum points in convincing fashion.
Yusuf was understandably delighted with his performance and credited the goals to work done on the training ground since the start of the season.
“It’s something we have been practicing for a while now from the beginning of the season, and we got it right today,” Yusuf told the club’s official website.
“I was in the right place and got the goals. A new nickname, I don’t know if I will take it, but we’ll see.”
