‘I Will Not Allow Anyone Come Between Us — Osimhen Sends Message To Napoli Fans Amid TikTok Row

Napoli forward Victor Osimhen released a statement on Sunday following the TikTok video controversy with the club.

Osimhen was infuriated after he was mocked in a TikTok video by the Partenopei following his penalty miss in the club’s 0-0 draw at Bologna.

The Nigeria international’s agent Roberto Calenda threatened to take legal action against the Serie A champions.

The striker also took down all the images of himself in a Napoli jersey from his social media pages and celebrated scoring goals in muted terms over the last week.

A statement from Napoli stopped short of an apology, only assuring any offence was not intentional, while the social media manager stepped down today, only for it to be confirmed this decision was made weeks ago and was not in any way related to the Osimhen situation.

The 24-year-old has now broken his silence on the saga.

“Coming to the City of Naples in 2020 was a wonderful decision for me. The People of Naples have shown me so much love and kindness, and I will not allow anyone to come between us,” reads the statement.

“The passion of the People of Naples fuels my fire to always play with my heart and soul, and the love for the badge is unwavering as I wear it with pride.

“The accusation against the People of Naples are untrue. I have a lot of friends that are Napolitans and have become part of my family and everyday life.

“I appreciate Nigerians and everyone for lending their voices to support and reach out to me. Thanks so much, I’m forever grateful.

“Let’s continue to spread unity, respect and understanding.

“FORZA NAPOLI SEMPRE.”

Osimhen played a key role in Napoli’s Scudetto success last season, their first in 33 years.

The former Lille scored 26 goals in 32 league appearances.

Hw has registered five goals in seven league outings this term .

Correct boy. I love this. Don’t let gullible Nigerians gaslight you. Focus on your football career and the sky will be your starting point. Neapolitans are some of the most accommodating people I’ve ever seen in my lifetime. A lot of Nigerians are there doing great things. You’re already a Napoli Superstar and I’m sure they love you unconditionally and you love Napoli too. Keep your head up Next African footballer of the year.

    • Spot on @Ayphillydegreat!
Sometimes, one can’t help but wonder how some of our people reason or don’t reason.

    LOL! Chaii!

Wo Osigoal my brother – either this is great kidology, playing the beast at his own game and invariably coming out on top – which will be a very wise move – and kudos to your advisers if that is what this is- It is what I believe that it is because anything otherwise will be nothing less than “Isasi” of the highest order!
Please pay the game like a wise serpent and keep all your toys in the pram – then make sure you move in Jan or as soon as somebody coughs up – after that you will be at liberty to come out and say it as it really is, but remember, always use diplomacy because as they say- There are many ways to skin a cat – Gone are the days when these evils will not only cheat and treat us as sub-humans, but then they will still win when judged by their own unholy standards – If we scream and shout and kick out at the devilish behaviour of these satanic people – They will say we have anger problems, chips on our shoulders, but worse still, they have somehow planted some dirty, small minded, mentally crippled saboteurs among us who will give hypocritical validity to their evil, depraved drivel (or as it is popularly coined – divide and conquer elements)- I mean who (oh who) needs enemies with “friends” like these chaii! – talk about real life “FRENEMIES” lool!
Only ourselves and Baba God can help the race – we need to start by weeding out the friggin undesirables amongst us and getting rid of these cursed elements for the good of our society!
As for you children of Esau – Your day is almost upon you – as we say in Africa -land of the real seeds of Abraham, Everyday for the thief but one (just one) faithful day will be for the owner!
Until them, prepare your damn selves for ruination unto damnation! I no fit shout!
    Hahahahahahahaha!

Osimhen, keep your head level, just focus on your football. You will overcome. Napoli handled this matter poorly. Both parties try to end the matter amicably.
