The top 10 ranked Nigerian Footballers have a combined market valuation of €196.5m as per the latest update released by Transfermarkt.com on Friday, August 21.
Leicester City midfielder, Wilfred Ndidi is currently Nigeria’s most valuable player with his market value at €45m after increasing by €9m from €36m back in July.
Victor Osimhen who joined Napoli on July 31 is currently Nigeria’s second most valuable player after his market value surged by €13m from €27m to €40m on August 3.
Club Brugge’s Emmanuel Dennis ranked fifth among all players from Nigeria has a market value of €16m with his valuation increasing by €2.5m from €13.5m on August 6.
Leicester City forward, Kelechi Iheanacho’s valuation is €15m, having jumped from €12m while that of Partizan Belgrade striker, Umar Sadiq increased from €2m to €6m.
The top-10 Nigerians are Ndidi, Osimhen, Samuel Chukwueze €27m, Alex Iwobi €25.5m, Dennis, Iheanacho, Ahmed Musa €8m, Ola Aina €7m, Moses Simon and Samuel Kalu €6.5m.
Meanwhile, the brilliant performances of Super Eagles striker, Simeon “Simy” Nwankwo led to his market value jumping by as much as eight hundred thousand euros.
Simy’s current market value stands at €2.5m and that is after it witnessed an increase from €1.7m in April’s ranking and that is according to Transfermarkt.com.
He emerged top-scorer in the Serie B for the 2019/20 season with 20 goals, one more than Perugia’s Pietro Lemmello who netted 19 times during the last campaign.
It is Simy’s most prolific season, netting 21 times in 38 games overall for Crotone and seeing 3,115 minutes of action with a goal involvement every 148 minutes.
The 28-year-old has set his sights on making a comeback to the Super Eagles under Gernot Rohr following his great goal-scoring form throughout the league season.
Simy who was last invited for national team assignment by Rohr in September of 2018 hopes his playing in the Serie A will earn him a recall in the nearest future.
The Nigerian striker is ranked joint number one among all players at newly-promoted Serie A side, Crotone alongside Ahmad Benali whose market value is also €2.5m.
