Ejaria To Work Under New Coach At Reading

Ovie Ejaria will work under a new manager at Reading after Veljko Paunović was unveiled as replacement for Mark Bowen on Saturday.

Paunović will take charge ahead of the first league game of the new season, away at Derby County.

The 43-year-old has previously spent two years with Serbia U18, a year with the U19 side, a year with the U20 side and a spell with Chicago Fire between 2015 and 2019.

It is understood that Mark Bowen will return to a senior role at the club.

Mark Bowen is thought to be unhappy with the change in roles, given that he believes his strengths are more suited to a role on the touchline.

Owner Mr Dai Yongge told the club website: “With vast experience of top flight football as both a player and a coach across Europe and in the United States, and with proven pedigree of successfully working with young up-and-coming footballers on both the domestic and international scene, I am confident Veljko can help take this club forward.

“This has been a process and this appointment has been made only after long, careful consideration.

“After meeting with him, we found Veljko to be an exceptional candidate who impressed us immediately. I am sure he is the right man for Reading Football Club. I’m delighted he has agreed to sign as our new manager.”

Ejaria on Friday joined the Royals on a permanent deal from Liverpool.

I am a bit surprise that this lad didn’t come up with a reputable club in the premiership considering his talent.

His ball control and ball movements reminds me the reigning of zizu. I just hope all I have watched on YouTube about him are perfect reflection of his football artistry…

Best of luck once again, oviemuno Dominic EJARIA.

  • He holds on to the ball too long, likes to dribble alot instead of giving a,decisive pass. Doesn’t score enough goals. Eze is better for me. Needs to work more on his team play. We need players in the SE midfield who can create and score goals not just entertainers.
