A 19-year-old Nigerian midfield sensation, Al-Baashir Musa has continued his exploits with FK Apolonia in the Albanian second division.
Musa was at his best on Sunday as usual, helping his side to play out a 1-1 draw with hosts, Valbona in a week 7 game of the 2024/25 Albanian league season.
Apolonia will play against Burreli on October 20 in a week 8 game even as they are currently in the 10th position on the league table.
The Kano state born central midfielder is not only commanding the midfield but is being used for supporting attacking roles too because of his pace and ability to score goals.
Apolonia manager, Artan Mergjyshi has said that Musa’s arrival at the club is attracting fans to their games, adding that he is a good player that is open to learning and plays according to instructions, which gives him advantage over others.
Mergjyshi believes Musa has what it takes to command the Nigerian Under-20 (Flying Eagles) midfield, adding that he is a player one can rely on anytime.
On Musa’s performance in Sunday’s game, Mergjyshi said: “As usual, Musa has not disappointed us since he joined from EUFC, a football academy in Nigeria.
“He keeps improving in every game we play and today (Sunday, October 6, 2024), he was awesome,“ the club manager said.
The former Ejike Ugboaja FC play-maker has become a household name in the Albanian second division league.
In the last six games, Musa has remained the cynosure of all eyes, as the commentators have become used to his name due to his high work rate for the team.
In a chat with the media, Musa said he is ready to do everything to help the club improve in the league and have more wins.

Albaashir Musa is no doubt a candidate for Coach Aliyu Zubairu”s Flying Eagles team preparing for the WAFU B U20 AFCON qualifiers in Togo. The 2025 U20’World Cup in Chile is for players born on or after January 1,2005.
Clubs in France , Belgium,Italy,England etc may be reluctant to release the likes of Hafiz Umar Ibrahim, Victor Orakpo, Adeshina Ayodele, Victor Eletu, Benjamin Fredrick etc to the team as the competition is not recognized.by FIFA.
At least the NFF can look towards the leagues in Albania,Malta,Greece, Denmark, Sweden,Norway etc for few foreign based players to fortify the National U20:team.
Hmmm…..the ‘eagle eyes’ of CSN scouts have gone all the way to the Albanian 2nd division to give us reports on players’ scorecard.
Interesting.
lol@ Dr Drey
They couldn’t even hide their agenda. So Obvious. Simply a paid ad. from someone trying to ‘systematically’ push his player down that national team route.
Not a mention of Jeff Ekhator, the 17 years old Genoa player of Nigerian descent, who literally scored this weekend.
He actually plays in the ITALIAN SERIE A.
Soon we would lose such player to Italy like we did with Destiny Udogie (21) and Caleb Okoli (23)
Well, I don’t blame them, such move has been given legs by the ineptitude in our society mostly fueled by the powers that be.
Only God will save us.
@ Mr.Hush,it a foregone conclusion that Jeff Ekhator of Genoa will toe the line of Angelo Ogbonna,Stefano Okay, Destiny Udogie, Michael Folorunsho and lately,Caleb Okoli,to lace his boots for the Italian national Michael Kayode and Luca Koleosho will soon join them. Ekhator was born in Italy and may not fancy coming down here to play for us. There’s another youngster of Nigeria descent though making waves in the Genoa youth set up. His name is Honest Aranor. But they are not better than Victor Orakpo of OGC Nice,France, Adeshina Ayodele of Lille OSC,France, Hafiz Umar Ibrahim of State Reims,France or Taiye Abdullateef Yusuf of Olympiacos Piraeus,Greece. There are many of them who are still within the age limit and eligible to play for the new Flying Eagles under the tutelage of Aliyu Zubairu.

Touche!
How come, I assume, a normal fan (like yourself) could notice all these players and list them, all verifiable, but those who are responsible for this, can’t? They only have one job!
But we all know why.
Look at the quality we have lost through the years to different countries just because of an inept and corrupt system run by unscrupulous leaders we have back home. We have lost so much quality in every sphere of life and will continue to lose just because of the reprehensibles we call Leaders.
Shameful and infuriating.
Like I said,
Only God will save us from ourselves.
Mr Hush…..stop expecting too much from the clueless technical department of an inept FA headed by an unscrupulous TD who has never hidden his desire to weed out foreign-born players from our national teams….ably aided by their e-minions who make excuses like ‘they are not good enough’ for him.
According to him, they are not Nigerian enough to understand the Nigerian football culture. In his words, the feeling of losing a match for them is not existent. Only Nigeria-born players know how to feel after a loss…..LMAOoo…as if they go on a 3-day mourning spree after losing games.
This so much looks like paid promotional content. Cos Albania? And even the second division, for that matter? Typically, it won’t be newsworthy for CSN, except if an agent or the player himself ‘pushed’ the news.
But good PR never hurts anyone. Sometimes, you need that push to get the attention of selectors for the next U20 batch.
@ Mr.Hush ,you have said it all. Apart from agents, scouts and managers of some of these average players ,overbearing football administrators do not only recommend but impose certain players on our national teams selectors . Even in the recently released Super Eagles list for the double header against Libya,a certain player in the third tier of English football strangely found himself there even when there are better options like Ibrahim Buhari, Gabriel Osho,Igoh Ogbu, Jordan Torunarigha etc. That’s why we’ve never done well in the CHAN competition. We do not always select the best legs from the NPFL. May God help us!

@Dr Drey
It just boggles my mind. I don’t get it.
Why can’t we just do the right thing?
Why do we have to do this to ourselves?
Are we cursed?
Men! it’s frustratingly annoying when one can see a positive path to success and development but such is blocked by our intently clueless leaders!
Just wow!
How would we do the right things when the right people are not in the right places…?!
Wrong persons in the wrong places would only end up doing things the wrong way.
Put the right people in the right places and you will see how things will run organically unhindered to a progressive end.
We have a FA that has taken 10 months to employ a “replacement” for Peserio, since Peserio gave them what is termed in the corporate world as ‘Notice of Departure’ way before the AFCON earlier this year.
What does that tell you of the FA….?!
Seyi Olofinjana auditioned for the TD role Eguavoen now occupies and his verdict on the NFF was a damning verdict. The interviewee ended up becoming the interviewer when it became clear the interviewer was plain clueless and directionless. Eguavoen that willingly and willfully took the job afterwards can any list what his achievements have been as TD for almost 4 years since he’s occupied that office…?!
And this malady pervades almost every govt run sector in that country. The moment you sit with them and engage in round table discussions with them, unless you are a thief yourself whose mission in nigeria is to steal, kill and destroy, you will be so disgusted you will pack up your suitcase and return to wherever you’ve come from.
That’s how much rot, and decay having the wrong people in the wrong offices have sunk Nigeria especially in the last 1 to 1½ decade.
