2021 AFCON: Super Eagles To Camp In Abuja

The Super Eagles will begin their preparations for the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations in Abuja.

According to a press release by Toyin Ibitoye, the team’s former media officer who is now a media aide to Nigeria’s minister Sunday Dare, the revelation was made when the minister spoke on a TVC sports programme.

Dare said the Federal Ministry of Youth and Sports Development and the Federal Capital Territory are collaborating to provide the Super Eagles with a conducive environment to train and prepare for the tournament which begins in Cameroon on the 9th of January, 2022.

Dare assured that the team will not disappoint the nation at the AFCON, expressing optimism that they can do better than they did at the last edition held in Egypt in 2019.

“I have no doubt that with the quality of the personnel(both players and coaches)in our team, we can go all the way in Cameroon. We finished third in Egypt the last time out, we can do even better this time around. We just have to develop confidence in ourselves and do the hard work on the pitch,” Dare said.

Just like our GENERAL, Dare is even emphasizing/bragging on the we finish third of a thing and hoping for a better results. Which shows he was comfortable with the process..(And won’t be surprised If he was not pleased with the sacking) So going by his statement the main objective now is to bring home the cup. To finish up what GENERAL ROHR started.

How much are they paying you for all these Rohr sycophancy? Oh maybe your contract of pay per comment with Rohr hasn’t ended despite his sacking? Please STOP making a fool of yourself! The other day you claimed that Rohr discovered Uzoho and Osimeh, forgetting that Uzoho was a vice goalkeeper to Alampasu at the 2013 U17 squad and Osimeh a member of the 2017 U17? If your god Rohr discovered them, then what was the role of Manu Garba and Amunike that took them at the U17 WC? I doubt you are a Nigerian. You are most likely a Goebel , a propagandist hired to sing Rohr praises on social media. Shame on you for being an untruth person.

      • Chuuzy 2 years ago

@Naija, don’t mind the frustrated ewu. Untruthful is correct.

Abuja? But last time checked Uyo is closer to Cameroon and also Uyo share the same weather and atmosphere with most part of Cameroon.

      *The last time I checked*

@Naija do not be surprised these group of people could be rooting against Super Eagles to fail.

  • Ako AMADI 2 years ago

No list of selected players shows some of them don’t want to play under Egusvoen. Thr venue for csmping is inconsequential.

    • Check yourself very well, like you are struggling to make comment. The height of a footballer’s career is donning his national jersey.

    • @Ako Amadi, I have started to believe this your angle to this. Let’s see what is or might be unfolding.

    • Stop talking trash ako amadi…..

  • Where is the provisional list now habba.

  • Marvelous 2 years ago

There is a problem with that list, it might be that some certain players are still grieving over Rohr disastrous sacking and there is bad omen awaiting or the coaching crew are trying to input their own players. There is no smoke without a .The suspense is too much, if this was happening under Rohr some racist will be talking trash by now even is clear to them that their NFF and sport ministry is the worst in the whole planet earth even in Mars and Jupiter. Why change the stadium from Uyo that is closer to Cameroon and also share similar weather conditions with Cameroon south because Uyo is close to Oron, okobo, mbo,Ibeno etc which borders Cameroon by water. This guys are at it again, always trying to sabotage our SE eagles because of stupid regional politics.

  • Dr. Drey 2 years ago

Hehehehe…it is no longer Uyo, it is now in Abuja where Sunday Dare and Politicians can have all the access they need into the SE camp to impose themselves on the team and its officials.

According to Fela, Everywhere scatter scatter, confusion everywhere.

Even when we hosted the Nations cup, we never camped in the country.

I just hope too many cooks will not spoil this soup.

We dey wait them. We wont tolerate ANY excuse(s)….not all of us a failures who are contented with failure just because its “our own”…!!!

Its the Cup and Qatar or nothing! Incase they have forgotten!

    • Dr drey..it is very obvious that you want this team to fail because of the sack of gernot rohr so you can come here and start lamenting, my brother allow the nff to do their job moving the team to Abuja from uyo is not a big deal… Some of you here are just waiting for the failure of the super eagles in Cameroon… Because a coach was sacked is gernot rohr the first coach to be sacked in the world. .I beg make we hear word…

      • @Banky
The same way you were praying for the team not to qualify for both afcon and WC play offs so that Rohr can leave without his entitlement.

      • Dr. Drey 2 years ago

Hahahahaha….dont push your frustrations on us. We are not “waiting” for the team to fail. You yourselves already pushed the team into the abyss of failure, which we were trying to prevent from the get go. We warned you all when your hatred beclouded your senses of judgement. We started failing the moment we swapped certainty for uncertainty. We told y’all what was gonna happen long ago and arent we already seeing the manifestations already…LMAOoo. Even your ring leaders have already conceded to the failure in the horizon…”Let us fail with our own”. I hope y’all are enjoying the confusion we are all seeing now with just less than 2 weeks to kickoff…..LMAOOooo

Cry all you want, WE WONT TOLERATE ANY EXCUSES. If they like let them camp the SE in ASO ROCK.

Its the Cup and Qatar or nothing! Incase y’all have forgotten!

And we know those of you whom we will hang should these two evade us eventually…..LMAOOOoo

This makes no sense. Uyo is closer to Cameroun and shares the same weather/climate with most of southern Cameroun, so why train in Abuja with the onset of the harmattan weather? The team does not need the distraction of the Sports minister and government officials at this critical time when they need to be focused on making a good impact at the tournament. Thanks

I seriously can’t understand you guys, like what the hell is your problem. Do you always have to bring politics into this like always? Uyo and Abuja, what’s the difference? At least we are not camping in London for an AFCON tournament.

  • That’s what you get when you allow politicians to run your football.

They just want to make politics in everything.

B4 it was Uyo, now Abuja, the next place would be Sokoto or maybe Kavanchan….
    Confuse set of politicians everywhere.

    We’re watching…..

  • @Banky you said the truth Dr drey and his boys have been praying for the team to fall but their prayers will not work for them.Eguavon Wii surely do well with the team I don’t see anything wrong in sacking rohr Chelsea sacked de Mateo after he won champions league.man u sacked morihno despite wining UEFA if chelsea can sack de Mateo after winning champions Nigeria can equally sack rohr.we started complaining immediately after 2018 w/ cup that match against arjentina really exposed Gr you were playing against a team with weak defenders like mascharano and you are playing Victor Moses in wing back position bench ebuehi and simmy. Thank God nff finally let him go my advice to Dr drey and his boys is to pray and souport the team if they are Nigerian God bless 9ja

Abuja has the best of facilities hence the change of venue camp. Moreover, the timing of the afcon is so short.the team needs all the best of facilities to strategize all tactics before heading to their base in cameroun. U people should just accept that gernot rhor was a total mess in the last two yrs. Of managing the team. No style of play, no guile. The eagles used to play with flare and panache but not anymore!

  • This was the same way this man hyping the Olympic team only for it to end as the most worst tournament ever. Why camping in Abuja because the stadium was recently refurbished? Is that what we are telling them, when the match should have been played on the stadium they refused now they are camping there. Everything is politic in this country no wonder they insist on putting their own so that they influence his decision.. others are camping outside with a better facilities ours is in a stadium without training pitch continue una eye go clear. Some idiots are accusing some people that they want the team to fail when what is happening now is obvious the team is heading for failure. We Siddon dey look

Pls, why has the list not been released by this time????? . why?? The competition is about starting in just a few weeks time but the list is not yet out. E be like say the brown envelops never go round wella. We are back to square one when lists take a whole century to be released before a tourney. E don start again. We are beginning to slide back to our usual era of non chalance, incompetence and gross corruption in high places. Odegbami go bring him own player, pinick go bring his own player, amokachi go bring him own, kanu nwankwo go bring him own, the nff secretary go bring his own, okocha go being him own, the npfl mgt committee go bring their own having collected brown envelops from good for nothing players and lo and behold, the 24 man list is formed. My country, my country. Era of super chickens lurking around the corner. Hehehe…

  • MONKEY POST 2 years ago

@Oakfield of course that is why they decided to put one of their own there. so the brown envelope can go round. With Rohr they knew it will be a bad business with the brown envelope. LMAO!!!

  • MONKEY POST 2 years ago

No wonder a prophetess said all footballers will end up in hell and I think some fans might as well join them. Especially these “Let us fail with our own” supporters. The way they can cheat and use lie to push their point is chocking me. If they bring bible or whatever you believe in, can you swear? Besides the discussion was between me and @Ugo Iwunze about Chukwueze. We latter concluded that discovery in football is a broad term. It has processes. That if you want to go with the dictionary meaning of discovery, initially it was even VICTOR APUGO that discovered chukwueze from the streets of Umuahia and handed him to Amunike. not even Amunike. Amunike only gave him his first break with the under 17 and so as Rohr with the Super eagles. The same thing I said about Osimehn just now about Rohr giving him a chance/ break with Senior national team… Haba which part of the English is hard to comprehend there. Or should we start using local dialect to comment here or is it that the person want to use my name to trend. But you fail cos I won’t stoop so low to exchange offensive words with you.

  • MONKEY POST 2 years ago

*About Chukwueze. It wasn’t even about uzoho or Osimehn*

  • Marvelous 2 years ago

All those saying Rohr supporters want SE to fail are bunch of fools and hypocrites. The last time I checked you guys were the one praying for Local coaches, wishing SE to lose matches and possibly not even qualify for both Afcon and WC so that Rohr will be sacked. Racist set of people trying to put their own dark skin of hatred on others, I can remember all your comments and prayers when Rohr was in charge. My problem is not Rohr going but the right person taking the job matters most. We are stocked together with the useless NFF we should not be divided, instead we should unite together and fight our common enemy which the FG, sport ministry and NFF. Why change from Uyo to Abuja? When teams far below SE are camping outside country we are busy Playing stadium politics. This is why the sport ministry needs a local coache so that they can put call to him and order him anyhow. I won’t be surprise if SE train in Taslim Balogun stadium just to please Lagos politician. We are mess up together let’s unite! Akwa Ibom sea side local government are closer to Cameroon. Some people will only need to board a boat within 1-4 hours and watch the match life.

    • Camping in Abuja will not stop the team from playing good football in Cameroun you guys should stop complaining let’s talk about the preperation as it stands now we have not heard about playing friendlie before the tournament.

  • LET US FAIL WITH OUR OWN 2 years ago

Lol! @Dr Drey am always elated whenever I see your post. Of course we know who’s head to come for if those two elude us. Their oga @JimmyBall is No 1
