2022 U-20 WWC: Onyenezide Named MVP After Scoring Wonder Goal Vs South Korea

Goal hero Esther Onyenezide was named Player of the Match in the Falconets’ hard fought 1-0 win against South Korea at the ongoing FIFA U-20 women’s World Cup in Costa Rica.

In Sunday’s Group C second game, Onyenezide netted a superb long range strike to seal the win and qualification into the quarter-finals.

It was the Falconets’ second group win after they opened their campaign with a 1-0 win against France.

Onyenezide is the second Falconets player to be named Player of the Match following in the footsteps of Flourish Sabastine.

Up next for the Christopher Danjuma-led team is a last group game against Canada in the early hours of Thursday.

She is an attacking midfield general, you can’t get ball from her when ever she has it , she is heading straight to the super falcons for the world cup !!

Ghana and loosing, becoming too much. Who curse Ghana, always loosing, bundled out coming back to their home soil empty handed, not even a single goal scored. Na wa oh, self made shit, what can you say about that? Just muster some courage to speak.

This girl should retire Rita chikwelu in the super falcons.. she is good, uses both legs so well, takes free kick well, and takes corner kick.. I hope the super falcons coach is monitoring these players..

Korea is a very good side , I saw the game, very technical side , immediately we scored they came out and showed their technicality.. wow! What a team but our girls dominated, which shows our girls are good .

Few people are talking about our defense and goal keeper, Nigeria has not conceded a single goal in this tournament.. thats impressive, but we should take it easy.. we don’t want to see a repeat of the afcon Best team of the group stage and worse in the knock out.. I wish them well

The gals have done well. Congratulations to them. However, if they want to go beyond the quarter finals stage and eventually win the cup, the coach needs to work on their activity in the final third. They seemed to have been lost yesterday the number of times they got to the final third of the koreans. They seemed bereft of ideas and wasted a couple of good goal scoring moves.
