2022 U-20 WWC: USA Thrash Ghana 3-0 In Group Opener

2022 U-20 WWC: USA Thrash Ghana 3-0 In Group Opener

It was not the best of starts for Ghana as they lost 3-0 to United States of America, in their first Group D game at the 2022 FIFA U-20 women’s World Cup in Costa Rica.

Aside suffering a disappointing opening day defeat Ghana had a player sent off early in the game.

USA broke the deadlock in the 11th thanks to skipper Michelle Cooper.

Things went from bad to worse for Ghana in the 31st minute, as Jacqueline Owusu was sent off after a foul on midfielder Korbin Albert following consultations with VAR.

The USA capitalized on the sending off and doubled their lead in the 38th minute thanks to Alyssa Thompson.

And in the 52nd minute USA got a third goal this time off the boot of Ally Sentnor.

Up next for Ghana is a tough clash with defending champions Japan billed for Sunday, 14 August while USA will face the Netherlands.

Meanwhile, Africa’s other representative Falconets of Nigeria will open their campaign against France in the early hours of Friday (12am).

And it doesn’t get any easier judging by what I’m seeing from Japan, they’re currently dominating the Dutch

Ghana again, becoming used to loosing. Back from the commonwealth games with no medals at all, empty hand. These poor black shit girls will go back home with defeat. Poor girls, come to Nigeria and take some coaching lessons. It’s free, or better still, you all can all switch nationality to Nigeria. Where is self made shit? Yaw yaw? Hahaha.

Where is that parrot that was blaming CAF for holding the tournament in January can see why they shouldn’t budge to the request of those Europeans. Now our game is in rain delay

      Senseless fool. Okponu.

So has the rain stopped the entire tournament from holding now…? Has the rain stopped USA vs Ghana or Japan vs Netherlands or Costa Rica vs Australia from holding too…?

      Dodoyo omo ale oshi

It must be only Africa that experiences rainfall in July. Other continents don’t. That is why they all play their continental championships in June/July.

See the kind of world-class pitch self-draining pitch ordinary Costa Rica can provide that your lazy black brained administrators in 54 African countries cannot provide and expect European countries to put their own league on hold because 24 African countries want to play in the AFCON.

      Oshonu ara galatia oshi.

Instead of you to bow you head in shame that in 2022, your entire continent cannot provide pitches that will remain intact even after a tsunami like the one a small country like Costa Rica can provide….LMAooo

      Alailopolo obu lasan lasan omo.

Go and tell your father to force European countries to suspend their league for your AFCON na…..LMAoooo

Didinrin, at least I live in a zoo, I have shelter. I am still way better than you who live in sink holes in a refuse dumpsite, eating the garbage that has made you stupid for eternity. Okponu ayirada.

If Costarica were to have lazy and brain dead sports administrators like your father and the idiots we have at CAF, they would have complained to FIFA that this tournament should be put on hold till January 2023 because it is raining Cows and Horses in CostaRica at this time of the year.

That is how stupid your CAF is, that in the year 2022 rain is still a challenge for them and their 54 member nations….LMAooo

Awon okponu aye oun orun oshi.

Dont worry, I will go and wank myself to sleep the way you always watched your father wank himself to sleep, for you to have had any idea like such engraved on your empty skull.

If the Costa Ricans were to be as brainless, lazy, incompetent and anti-progressive as you and your fathers in Africa, they would have told FIFA that they are no longer hosting this world cup anymore because it falls in their rainy season…..LMAooo

    • Dr. Drey 2 years ago

      Okponu ayirada….adagba ma danu

Can you see how that pitch is still looking cleaner and fresher than your brain after carrying the weight of 22 footballers and a heavy downpour for 90 minutes…??

      Didinrin oshi.

The reason why your black brained CAF cannot hold its AFCON in June is not because of rain, its because of their mental laziness and backwardness like yours. They cant provide simple things like the pitch a small country like Costa Rica can provide

Other continents hold their nations cups in June because they know that in 2022, all they just need is a pitch with a proper drainage system.

      Ode omo lasan lasan.

The falconet game had been stopped due to heavy rainfall. CSN, do take note.

  • Mike Manus 2 years ago

The match is facing suspension already. The girls are good anyway.

See correct field even after heavy downpour.

  • Lord AMO 2 years ago

So far both teams look evenly matched however you can see we are susceptible to set piece crosses and our right back is a weakness.

  • Footballfanatic 2 years ago

Very impressed with the falconets…. This is why we stress that youth be infused into the super falcons. Word of advice for Danjuma though…He needs to work on the GK if he is to go far in this tournament, she is too jittery

    Naija!

  • Footballfanatic 2 years ago

Wow that game was entertaining …..Nigeria is blessed these bad leaders just need to go..

  • I pray the Falconets don’t peak early. Well done to them for this truly huge and impressive win against European champions and Uefa champions league players. Thumbs up to our “homebased” Falconets.

    • Footballfanatic 2 years ago

They’ll get even more coordinated, I hope. You can see that the self-belief grew gradually especially when I was thinking they should defend at the closing stages but no they continued to attack lol…If it was the Abuja stadium after rain and 90 minutes you would think there was a war on that pitch…. Retrogressive bunch of leaders we have…

      • Dr. Drey 2 years ago

Haahahahaha….even without rain it was already looking like a Rago market on the eve of Sallah…..LMAOoooo.

See what a soccer pitch should look like abeg. 90 minutes of rain, yet looking like Nigerite carpet of yesteryears.

        • Footballfanatic 2 years ago

lmaoooooooooooooo chai and that is supposed to be the national stadium in the seat of power. Costa Rica is not even as rich as Nigeria in terms of human and natural resources but look at the stadia they presented for this tournament…My brother I weep for our nation.

  • Dr. Drey 2 years ago

Good game Falconets. Congrats to the team.

It was a game that could have titled either way….it was touch and go. But I must commend the team for holding its own all the way.

Sweet 3 points in the bag. Canada looks like another team we can bully to get the good 6 points that will qualify us from this tough group into the next round.

Onyenezide, Demehin and Imuran look good to be eased into the Super Falcons gradually after this tournament. (Gradually in quote)

  • congratulations falconets…

  • Ayphillydegreat 2 years ago

Congrats to the SuperFalconets!!! The rain kinda disrupt their rhythm after the restart, but they showed grit, composure and determination when it mattered most. Thumbs up to Blessing Demehin, Florence Sabastine, Mercy Idoko with that lovely assist and Esther Onyenezide. Watch out for those names in the nearest future and surely in the course of this tournament. Congrats to Christopher Danjuma. There’s only a few lapses, but I expect them to go far in this tournament. The goalie is not bad she made some crucial blocks though suspect on crosses and corners in particular. However, they look like a promising Nigeria side.

    • Dr. Drey 2 years ago

What impresses me most is the fact that they look really young. They look really under 20. At least the whole essence of having the team is not defeated. That is already a win for me. Any other goodies they come up with as the tournament progresses is a bonus

      • Greenturf 2 years ago

        The trophy can be accomplished.
This team from the African playoffs have impressed, nothing but the trophy is good enough, they shouldn’t settle for less.
We should aspire for gold this time we have had a near miss a few times, they have started well against tournament favourites, they have shown in their character tonight a side that could go all the way.
