2022 W/Cup Playoffs: CAF Approves Baba Yara Stadium, Kumasi For Ghana Vs Nigeria First Leg Clash

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has approved the Baba Yara Sports Stadium, Kumasi for the first leg of the 2022 FIFA World Cup playoff between Ghana and Nigeria, reports Completesports.com.

The game was initially scheduled for the Cape Coast Sports Stadium but has now been relocated due to the poor state of the pitch.

The approval comes after a CAF Licensing Inspector visited the Baba Yara Sports Stadium last Sunday to inspect the facility.

In a letter signed by CAF Development Officer, Raul Chipenda and sent to the General Secretary of the Ghana Football Association, Prosper Harrison Addo, Esq. and copied to FIFA, CAF stated that:

“Reference to the CAF stadium inspection conducted to Baba Yara Sports Stadium (Kumasi) for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 African qualifiers playoff round match, Ghana Vs. Nigeria scheduled for the 25th of March 2022, following the analysis of the report we have taken the following decision:

“Grant a one-match approval for the use of Baba Yara Sports Stadium (Kumasi) in the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 African qualifiers playoff round match Ghana Vs. Nigeria;
Upon conclusion of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 playoff round match, the stadium is automatically removed from the list of CAF approved stadiums and will only be approved for any subsequent CAF/FIFA international senior national teams matches and CAF men’s interclubs competitions following the implementation of all the CAF remarks”.

Anywhere can serve. Super Eagles all the way.

They must have some mysterious reason for desperately wanting the match to be played in Kumasi. I and I smell a rat.

      • Selfmade KING 2 years ago

        The reason is this

        Meetings total 56
        All-time series Ghana: 25 Draw: 19 Nigeria: 12
Largest victory Ghana 7–0 Nigeria Jalco Cup (1 June 1955)

        • That’s the past, don’t compare past with present, who is Belgium in the past but now they are the number 1 of the world for two straight years. Only partey of arsenal and sulemani of rennes, who else your goalkeeper for afcon plays in England fourth division ( wollcaot) you even considered a keeper who plays for a Nigerian club (rangers) so Ghana and Nigeria aren’t on thesame level

          • Selfmade KING 2 years ago

The past is a mirror to the future …..

Keep tickling ur self that the last doesn’t matter

Ghana ll humble u in Kumasii

  • Cissy 2 years ago

I know security is checking on the stadium right now. I will reserve further comments.

  • Selfmade KING 2 years ago

This is the stadium that Ghana completely demolished Egypt by 6-1

These bunch of OVERRATED COWS whose nickname is SUPER CHICKENS ll be bulky, toasted and completely annihilated in the citadel of Ghana football

Ghana the masters of the chickens

    • If you say rubbish again I will pray that Partey will get an injury that will keep him out for the rest of his career but that will be impossible because he represent the Africans colours that why I can’t wish him bad or another player but your presence alone signals annoyance

Why are you talking as if it’s not just a football match. You’re so immature.

      • Selfmade KING 2 years ago

Immature like ur wife lol!! And what’s immature about what I said

Crawl back to the shanti town u came from lol

    • Baba @selfmade idiot, face me. Let’s rap here. Let’s do a thread. I dey pursue you with fists of fury, you dey run. I quote your threads, you dey jump and pass. I dey bloody you up, you dey stagger, dey run.

Who you want field next week?Jordan? Abi make we kukuma send our U23 to still do the job? Go and check the last time Nigeria SE lost an away match. It’s impossicant. You can start checking from 2018. Check very well and come back to report.

Everywhere is home for Nigeria. We never lose away. The home team either suffers an embarrassing losx or escapes with a score draw. Go and check. That is why you have been pantingvwith fear, pouring smelly spit all over the place and ranting mere dusts and smokes.

Ol’ boy, you and your black stars (what a name for a ‘star’) go chop sand on 25th. Una go drink petrol with funnel tire. The disgrace no go be here. You were not even qualified to be in the 2nd round, which is why South Africans are soo interested on 25th too after Amartey became pregnant and collapsed from a breeze to earn a dubious penalty.

This was all mind games from onset. OK, the match is finally at Baba Yara we’re Ghana does all kinds of dirty and fetish things. Super Eagles must be ready for WAR! Eguaveon should watch how Ghana beat Nigeria at CAN 2008. There was a particular incident when Anthony Annan poked Mikel Obi in the eye. It happened right in front of the referee but he turned a blind-eye. Like I said a couple of months back, Ghana would prefer to lose against Djibouti or Malta than losing to Nigeria.

The best way to beat Ghana is to approach the match with serious bitterness (just like Ghana does). If Ghana bring Chinese-Karate, show them American Kick-boxing or UFC.

If Super Eagles like, they should go there and do big-boys or sme-sme. The story will be similar to what Egypt suffered in Kumasi. If una like, mek una hear!

    • Selfmade KING 2 years ago

Which kind of dirty stuff can u mention for us to see! Stop with ur bullshit fake news!! If Ghana does all kinds of things to win in baba yara, why did we struggled against South Africa when we could have taken South Africa to the slaughterhouse?

Fake news!! Prepare urself becasue we are taking the chickens to the slaughter house

      Overrated cows haha

    • Selfmade KING 2 years ago

Mention some of the dirty stuff Ghana does in baba yara!!

Stop with ur fake propaganda!! Is only the fans in Kumasi are passionate and they ll do anything to win period

Fake news u spreading here!! By the way Nigerian are known ritualistic in the whole world lol

    • Selfmade KING 2 years ago

That Anthony Annan incident happens in Accra stadium and not Kumasi tho

  • Michel 2 years ago

I expect a total annihilation of Ghana in this match, though they will plant all kinds of juju on the pitch but thier juju didn’t help them at the Afcon,it backfired and will backfire again.i am pretty sure that we will beat Ghana home and away so that born troway Ghana supporters will stop coming here to write rubbish

    • Selfmade KING 2 years ago

Nigeria is the most ritualistic nation on earth!! No wonder ur ur federal government has banned money rituals in ur movies

Here is the example!! I ll update ur BOKOM head right now

I guessed they use HOLY WATERS to do the money rituals haha

      He

This guy reminds me of the days when we had kickoff magazine online services. We were in constant fight with south Africans during matches. I dunno why they closed that website. It was a lot of South Afrian and Nigerian fans fighting.

Money has exchanged hands between Ghana Officials and CAF representatives…

  • Greenturf 2 years ago

Nigeria should file a protest because under FIFA’S law the application for use of the Kumasi stadium was submitted late.
But trust Nigeria to just leave things as it’s,Ghana in similar situation would protest to fifa

    • Selfmade 2 years ago

U dumb as a pair of SOCKS!! The inspection was done by caf in conjunction with fifa!!

      U scare now haha

That rule only exist in ur TRAMADOL head haha

Your so uncultured. Can’t you make a simple statement without being abusive???

        • Selfmade KING 2 years ago

Oga go away before I call EGUE to come kick ur phat ass off this page lol

  • Even better;there won’t be excuses when we beat them.

    • Selfmade KING 2 years ago

Tell ur players that if they value their careers, they should chill for us to wallop them otherwise all the ancestoral spirits in Kumasi ll hunt their already failed careers lol

      • Guy keep cool, empty drum sounds the loudest,Ghana will lose to Nigeria is already confirmed, I have researched Ghanaians players do not want to play for Ghana for different reasons. So Jordan ayew that has one goal in 24 games is your deadliest striker. Wow wonderful.

        • Selfmade KING 2 years ago

Jordan is the most talented player in both teams and he is going to SCORE against the chickens just like his daddy was doing to the super chickens back in the days!!

Like father like son! The apple doesn’t fall far away from the tree!

          WATCH OUT FOR JORDAN!!

There’s no way Nigeria is beating Ghana in KUMASI BABA YARA STADUIM

          Remember I told u this

          • Larry 2 years ago

Is it that same Jordan that is tired of been a Footballer. Jordan’s football carrier has been miserable.

  • Yeboah 2 years ago

I came here to laugh loud! I told you the game was going to Kumasi.

Ghana has won the first battle off field. We will win the real battle on the pitch. This is a good sign!

I will be back here to laugh again after the game, God willing.

    • When Nigeria wins you should come also to rejoice with us ?, And this @self-made you always point out our electricity problem why? I don’t get this is about football not about our economy structure

    • Yeboah..I pity u,look what u are celebrating, you NSA failed to maintain you national stadium ,failed to keep you sport facility in good shape and you call it a win ?? So England will stop maintaining Wembley because they want a match shifted to Etihad?? What happened to you Ghanaian fans you football association is In a mess,Kurt okraku is killing your football and they keep telling u footings Ghanaian fans that it’s strategy.Everything is strategy, they delayed the release of ur list because Kurt okraku wants his boys on the list and doesn’t want u fans to protest against the invited players and you guys still think its all strategy.? Was it a strategy when he took injured players to ur last afcon?…you guys keep talking about strategy its better u wake up and see that there’s something wrong with ur football association…this is why Ghanaians generally are dumb the same reason u keep attacking Nigeria over music

      • Selfmade KING 2 years ago

See this stupid!! Ghanaians are dumb but has a country with electricity whiles the ones who called themselves are living in filth and NEPA CONTROLLED one failed project called naija haha

U need some the legendarily GHANA DNA COMMON SENSE to know the era we living in

Ur sad face like ASHAWO GRAND MAA panties haha

        • Once again about our electricity laspses and also NEPA do not supply us electricity again, that’s why I said calm down. This is still about football one team must winbover the other . And as at now Ghana looks like it’s going to los

    • Larry 2 years ago

But you struggled to beat South Africa in that same Kumasi

      • Selfmade KING 2 years ago

U need a new memory because the naija made one isn’t working again lol

Maybe u need Chinese made one lol

  • Sunnyb 2 years ago

Can u guys see some of the antics we’ve been warning u guys about.Ghana would bribe anybody to win this two games. The number one juju stadium in the world Baba yara Kumasi stadium, let’s pray for our boys against any serious injuries.

    • That’s what I am saying any way is the best way for them. But I don’t see anything wrong with changing if stadium only if they use charms

  • Sugar Daddy 2 years ago

The Ghanians decided to destroy the coastal stadium for the match to be shifted to their choice stadium. I wonder why CAF or FIFA are falling for this pranks from the very dubious and diabolical Ghanians.

However, this will not save them this time as the SUPER EAGLES would be too ruthless with these minnows called the ‘black stars’ of Ghana. We will finally change their name from Black Stars because stars are never black in the first place!!! They will surely meet their doom this time around….This is never going to be ‘Big man’ football….

  • Nija babe 2 years ago

Nigeria will loose this encounter for the following reasons
    1. 9 forwards- the coach will be forced to field 433 formation to accommodate strikers
    2. 5 midfielders means little choice when it comes to substitution in the department where Ghana is strong and once Ghana cut supply to strikers the job is done .

That said Ghana must take their chances where Ayew Jordan could be a hand full if he comes to the party

Complete Sport didn’t give accurate report of CAF decision on the approved stadium for the match: the report said that there are some aspects of the stadium that must be put in place before the match day such as: players dressing room to be upgraded, floodlights, pitch level seats for players and coaches among others, all must be upgraded to international standards before 25th of this month failure of which Ghana will be sanctioned. Caf officials will also likely coming to inspect the stadium again to see if these amendments among others listed by caf are carried out.

Blame NFF for the petition they sent to CAF over Cape Coast stadium. That was why the venue was changed.
