2022 WCQ: ‘Dreaded Kumasi Stadium Doesn’t Scare Us’ —Eagles Skipper, Musa

2022 WCQ: ‘Dreaded Kumasi Stadium Doesn’t Scare Us’ —Eagles Skipper, Musa

Super Eagles skipper Ahmed Musa says playing inside the dreaded Babayara stadium in Kumasi does not scare Super Eagles Players.

The Babayara stadium will play host to the first leg of the 2022 World Cup qualifying playoffs between Ghana and Nigeria.

The game was initially billed for Cape Coast stadium, but later moved to Babayara stadium due to the poor state of the pitch at the former.

Following the choice of Babayara stadium, a lot of Ghanaians applauded the decision believing the Eagles, just like other teams, wouldn’t stand a chance.

The fans cited the 2014 World Cup qualifying playoffs between Ghana and Egypt, which saw the Black Stars thrash the Pharoahs 6-1 in the first-leg inside the Babayara stadium.

Despite talks about the history attached to the stadium by Ghanaians, Musa expressed confidence that the Eagles have what it takes to secure a win.

“I have never played in Ghana but I have played a friendly game against them,” Musa said in Wednesday’s press conference in Abuja.

“We have been hearing a lot of things that they have not lost in that stadium  (Babayara). If you remember the 2021  AFCON qualifiers we played in Benin Republic, they told us they’ve not lost there and we went there and won. So I believe we will go there and make history by winning in Kumasi.”

After a promising start at the last AFCON in Cameroon, the Eagles were knocked out by Tunisia in the round of 16.

And reacting to the disappointment, Musa said the Eagles want to compensate Nigerian fans with qualification to this year’s World Cup in Qatar.

“When we got knocked of the AFCON it was not what we planned for but in football sometimes it’s good and sometimes it’s bad.

“For we and Ghana it wasn’t a good tournament for us that is why the game would be tough for both teams. So we are back here in Abuja and ready for the game in two days time and hopefully we will get the victory.

“Like i said the AFCON was not good for all Nigerians which made us really sad but there is nothing we can do, that’s football but we just have to pay the fans back with the World Cup ticket and the boys are ready to give their best.”

Bro, they are afraid. We will use the chicken for pepper soup on Friday. They don’t know what is about to hit them

      Powerful

    • Lol, the same red, yellow and green with a star of any colour that about 10 countries in Africa uses? What’s unique about it. No creativity. It took me a long time no different between them. Same flag, just different orientations and colour of star.

Selfmade idiot, yaw oparo and Monkey boy (the saboteur who I will troll for 2 weeks if he ever dares to celebrate SE victory in Kumasi and WC qualfication), be ready for Friday. Even a baby psychologist knows all these are rants of a coward and an underdog. A lion, python or an Eagle don’t bark at a dog, It is the dog that makes all the noise out of fear of ending up as a meal.

More noise please. Repeat the 57 match history. You still have today and tomorrow to pour saliva everywhere like an imbecile.

You kukuma cannot match me. You cannot argue the points. Instead, you will resort to vulgarities. Oya, prove me wrong.

The game is in less than 2 days time.

If your team win you are free to rain on our parade,at the rate you are going one wonders what would be your fate if you lose at home..
Reminds me of Dede Ayew at AFCON and all his boasts about how you are a big team and how you are going to beat Comoros and qualify..
Wonder which stew he used to eat his humble pie..

      • Selfmade KING 3 years ago

Last time I checked, this is a Nigerian site..
You have been ranting since God knows when on a Nigerian site and you have the temerity to ask who is humble between Nigeria and Ghana?
          Lol..
Dede Ayew talking rubbish and overhyping your team at AFCON just before being bashed by a nobody Comoros,is one of the jokes of the year..

        • Donbenie 3 years ago

If you actually believed for a second that Nigeria is afraid of your crappy team oranywhere you decided to take the match to,then you must be deluded..
This from a team that was afraid to announce their team list to the world?
Have been watching football for decades and your crappy team that finished bottom of their AFCON group is the first to ever resort to such shenanigans..
