2022 WCQ: Super Eagles Seek Redemption Against CAR In Douala

Super Eagles will be desperate to avenge their shocking 1-0 loss to the Central Africa Republic (CAR) in today’s 2022 World Cup qualifiers at the Stade Omnisport in Japoma, Douala.

The Super Eagles got a shock home defeat on Thursday when, against all odds, they fell to an embarrassing 1-0 defeat to the lowly Central African Republic on matchday- three of the 2022 World Cup qualifying campaign.

Karl Namnganda netted the solitary goal in the 89th minutes after a misunderstanding at the back between Leon Balogun and Willian Troost-Ekong.

The defeat was Nigeria’s first loss at home in a World Cup qualifier in 40 years.

However, with the reverse fixture just few hours away, the Super Eagles players will be hoping to redeem their image by bouncing back to winning ways against CAR.

The Super Eagles still sit top of Group C with six points, but the Central African Republic and the Cape Verde Islands are in hot pursuit with four points.

Meanwhile, Rwandan official Louis Hakizimana has been appointed by the Confederation of African Football as referee for Sunday’s FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 African qualifying match between Nigeria and the Central African Republic in Douala.

Hakizimana will be assisted by compatriots Ambroise Hakizimana (assistant referee 1), Dieudonne Mutuyimana (assistant referee 2) and Jean Claude Ishimwe (fourth official) at the game that kicks off 2pm Cameroon time at the Stade Japoma.

To win this match, play awaziem/omeruo ,remove Collins, next time, invite onyekwuru, these are players that can move the ball smoothly,Simon and Musa are just waste of slots, play one defensive midfielder and not two.

To win this match Rhor must exclude William Troost and Balogun and must play with Omuero and Awziem in center defence; in defensive midfield he must play with Bonke and Onyeka and exclude Aribo; in attackting forward he must play with Iheanchu as playmaker,Samuel Kalu and Simon as wings with Osimhen as striker.Super Eagles line-up as follows:-Uzoho-Aina,Awziem,Omuero,Collins-Bonke,Onyeka-Iheanchu(playmaker),Kalu,Simon-Osimhen.

Are you sure you watched the match? The team needs the ease of foray from defence to half center which Trust and Balogun are good at. Our problem was the midF. CAR’s last minute goal came at the time it did and no defence in the world would have stopped that from happening recalling the fact that Balogun actually headed the ball away from the opposing striker only for it to hit Trust’s leg to the clear view of the scorer. We have few hours to the match lets hope, pray while waiting for the lads to do us proud.

  • @Michel the truth is that, since mikel retired from super eagles, super
eagles midfield has be poor, i don’t see nigeria winning this match cuz our technical crew lack technicality, imagine if central Africa is giving us head ache what will the likes of Algeria, Senegal, Ivory coast, Tunisia, Cameroon do to us. Super eagle needs good technical crew if nff would allow it.

    • Nigeria wil win today. I decree divine wisdom upon the coaches and players in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. Amen
      Flawless victory!

So you mean because real Madrid lost to Sheriff tiraspol at their home ground means their midfield is also bad? This is soccer anything can happen. The CAR also have two legs either ways and get got paid. The lost is just an eye opener for us not to underrate any team

  • Yes i agree with you awaziem and omeruo are better than the so called oyinbo wall.the coach is really killing our super eagles.

Guys d truth must be told am a die hard fan of GR,if after 5 yrs we are still struggling at this level then GR needs to go he has done his best, sometimes I wonder, if NFF is owing him for 8months how does he pay his bill n can’t speak up I smell foul play here,a lot of us blame oliseh out of sentiment, blindly knowingfully well that if we are in his shoes we won’t tolerate such, oliseh love his job then as SE coach but needs to sacrifice his job thinking that it will change how things are done in the d glass house little did he know that those men are monsters, oliseh is a typical naija man that needs money and thinks collecting egunje from the players were wrong so how do u expect him to pay his bill if u owe him months logs of salary? It doesn’t take anything away from him to play along with NFF and keep his job but he is a man of integrity and believe things ought to be don in d right way SE will be going for an away match more than 5o officials will accompany then for what?our main problem is the NFF until De are flushed out doom awaits naija football
I rest my case God bless nigeria

  • @chidi nice talk, don’t you knw that some Nigerians don’t like truth that is while things are getting wrong everyday i keep on saying that Rohr has done his best is time for him to step outside. Since mikel retired till date ad big as super eagles, super eagles don’t have playmaker is a shame.
