2022 WCQ: We Redeemed Our Image Against CAR -Omeruo

Super Eagles defender, Kenneth Omeruo says the team had no choice but to defeat the Central Africa Republic (CAR) in Douala in a bid to make a big statement of intent.

Recall that the three-time Africa Cup of Nations champions were shocked at the Teslim Balogun Stadium, Lagos by CAR thanks to a late minute goal from Karl Namnganda.

However, in the reverse fixture, Leon Balogun and Victor Osimhen were the goal scorers during the Sunday afternoon game in which the Super Eagles missed several chances.

Speaking with Supersports, the Leganés defender, who came on for Leon Balogun in the second half, said that the team needed the victory to prove that they are better than CAR.

“We had to win in Douala to show that we are better than CAR. I am happy that we won at the end.”

The Nigerian spirit keeps you winning. Ensure you guys qualify us for the World cup. Just imagine the World spectacle without the greenWhite, that would be no sense nah.

    • is better not to go if we goimg to be as spectators, if we can not go pass group stage, we can not be getting confussion in our defence again and we just have to score ,no back pass we just have to go forward like ejuke even if the ball was taken from him at least the oponent box 18. .may the best in africa qualify..

    You are wright.

  • You redeemed yourselves with 2-0 scoreline, mchewwwwwww… Your mates in Algeria, Morrocco, Tunisia consistently dismantle lesser opponents as they should by 4, 5 or 6 goals each match.. But when it comes to them we wait until after disaster to react and when we react, we react like we have 2 left feet.. See until that coach (Rohr) has released his bondage hold over super eagles and sent packing, we no go win anything!!!
