Former board member of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Sani Fema is of the opinion that the Super Eagles can overcome Brazil with the same players that played Guinea-Bissau if the right coach is appointed to manage the array of talents in the team.
Fema made this known on the backdrop of the team’s disappointing 1-0 win over Guinea-Bissau in a 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers on Monday at the Estádio 24 de Setembro Stadium.
According to him, the Super Eagles’ performance in Bissau showed that the team was capable of confronting and beating any team in the world, including Brazil, but that it lacked the technical crew and a good coach to bring out the best in the players.
“We can play Brazil with the same players, but the problem is that we don’t have a good coach, I’m sorry to say this; our technical crew isn’t good enough, but we have the players to play any team in the world,” Fema told NAN.
“You can see that the players did well in Guinea Bissau, most especially in the first half, the host could not attack them.
“I’m so impressed with the team, but like I said, we lack a good technical crew.
“I’m not supporting Peserio, I prefer our local coaches.”
He added, “We have potential coaches, the likes of Sunday Oliseh and Emmanuel Amuneke.”

A national team who had to struggle with Guinea Bissau and yet you say that with its present crop of players , you can handle Brazil who at the moment are not in their best form another. The team couldn’t even advance to the Nations cup talkless of qualifying to the world cup and even if they did , cannot even advance to the finals andein it. The national team needs massive work .
This coach is abad one cause he can’t harness the talence of Super Eagles players, also he could not put his fingerprints on SE team; he could not defend okay especially on defensive midfield line, center defence line; he could not instruct his strikers to size goals’s chances in tow maches in Abuja and Bissau; so recommend NFF to contract with local coach like Emmanuel Amuneki or Samsun Siasia after disolve his ban by FiFA. Or NFF must contract with Franch coach like Domenech the former coach or Netherland coach like Frank Deboer or philip cocu or former Brazilian coach Tite; thoes are World class coach they can harness SE players so that SE team can become formidable one, that can do excellent performance in AFCON. , or they can win the next AFCON. in Cote De’Ivore; NFF must a condistion on a new coach that he must play with strong and ferocious defensive midfielders and backs, also he must put a code of conducts that any recalled player for SE must play with this philosophy or this policy, any players must put in his mine and soul committment and dedication for SE team and Nigeria jersy, that means any pplayer recalled for SE squad must appear this philosophy on the ground and in his mine and his soul just like 94 generation and Atalanta 96 Olympic team how they have honored Nigeria Olympic SE just like Kanu, Ikpeba, Amoakache,Amuneki,Babayaro,West,Okocha, Mobi Oparaku, Tijani Babanjida, Sunday Oliseh, Fatusi and so on; all thoes players with excellent coaching crew have possessing committment and dedication all their career in SE, so they have won championships; I remember new NFF and new SE players on how SE have been strong and big team in Africa and the World, any team at that time when it match or meet SE charisma and prestige of SE possesses it so it was playing with awe and dread by SE, but now tiny team could not scare or have and awe and dread by SE so SE team are beaten at home; if we would like to return this charima and prestige for SE NFF must put his obligation and committment to hire World class coach, manage SE in right road or way, look at Moroccan federal football how they have made and arrays which have made Morocco team with World class team which have reached World Cup semi- final and now with 11 ranking in the World football; how can NFF be like this Moroccan football federation?!
For eagles to be able to beat any team.they must camp for 2 weeks.
Compare westerhorf wen he joined eagles as technical assistance . He lost a game in garbon . With that loss Nigeria found it deficult to qualify for wcup in 1990 .lol .but again in Algeria 90 we remember how ALG 5 vs Nigeria 1 he went on to the final ALG 1 Nigeria 0 .. u can remember 92 . bronze and Tunisia 94 gold. So Roma wasn’t built in a Day. And the man left after loss to Italy with annoyance. I m sure he got other countries contract before flying away from US 94. Now that we have best players all around.with 80k per week .then the highest was 5k per week and even the coach was on 10k per month. now 60k per month for coach. eagles need to wake up and get to winning way .
The 5-0 defeat to Algeria was possible due to the Algerian trick in which they took the Super Eagles to the July 5 Stadium which was capable of making even Westerhorf, a European, to shiver because of the cold.

We drew brazil in singapore with this same team they were even much younger and inexperienced compared to now when they are matured, to be fair to the coach i think chukueze caused all this insults, in both games he was useless and wastfull, if it was v moses or samuel kalu handling that wing pesero would have been praised, as for chukueze i think the 442 is not for him, he could not perform in that same partern in the afcon, even osihmen is usualy a lone striker, i will advice pesero to quickly master a better 433 formation alowing etebo and onyeka to sit behind iwobi who is the main playmaker of the team, the supereagles get goals when iwobi is closer to the attackers, the coach need to master his substitutes by now in a 433 formation if any of the midfielders is coming out aribo ndidi should be the option, if osimen is coming out iheanacho moffi, is there, so as for wingers, we have ejuke even aina can do better in wings too. If unuachu was not brought in for that second half in abuja nigeria would have at list gotten a draw, it was a total disaster to see unuachu and osihmen clashin each other in the attack na wa oooh, the nigeria vs serrieleone game in benin which ended 4 4 draw. Is the Perfect example of how supereagles should play, we got 4 goals in first half, it was one of Rohr best display, though it ended badly as we lost focus due to osihmen injury, if pesero can watch the first half of that game he we learn something about his team.
Cameroon that defeated Brazil at the World Cup lost against Namibia with their full squad. They even drew with the same team in their home. Make we calm down for this guys
Hello Nigeria, you had better learn from your mistakes otherwise you might end up not going to the world cup in 2026. Hello Nigeria, you are saying that, you need, a coach who is better some of you are saying that you don’t a foreign coach as I recall people were screaming that Gernot Rohr should be sacked and you ended up not going for the World Cup in Qatar in 2022 please learn from your mistakes so that these players don’t miss the World Cup in 2026. It will be tragic to waste these fine players especially as they are at the pick of their game.
Well again i want to say that take away the goals the guysare not anle to score, they played some beautiful football. However, i insist give this guy some time. He will probably know the strenghth of each of his players and play the right players in the way he want to play. Fot the first time we can see our team being attack minded after rohr left. It shoukd tell you that we are gradually getting. Coaching a national team is not a day’s job. Befor i say any ills about him i would want to see what he does against serria leone then i will no if he is learning and ammeding his team. But for now am ok with what i am seeing. It just remains blending the players. Cameroon drew and lost away. Senegal won away with the same scoreline as we did. Please analyse game constructively.
