Flying Eagles head coach, Ladan Bosso says he has a plan in place to beat Argentina in their Round of 16 fixture, reports Completesports.com.

Bosso’s side lost their opening two games against Dominican Republic and Italy but went down to a 2-0 defeat Brazil.

“We have to fight for the trophy. I think it is still open. Everybody can be there, and I believe we have the capacity to be there,” Bosso told thenff.com.

“We are into the knockout stage, and in the knockout stage, there is an approach, we can employ it, and we hope we’d have our plans executed accordingly,” the tactician noted.

The game will kick off at 10pm Nigerian time.

  • Bosso get ready to come home, you could have planned your game against Brazil well in order to avoid Argentina but you failed woefully. Brazilian players were not better than our boys but their coach was better than you and that was what made the difference in that match. All you needed to do was pack the bus and frustrate the Brazilian players who came jittering into that match but you chose to go all out playing like as if you had anything to prove against Brazil and it was unnecessary.

    • Hmmmn. I don’t think so. It’s naturally difficult for African teams to beat South American teams, and there was no much Bosso could do in that game. The reason is that, physical teams like Nigerian teams are not fast or athletic like those guys. So, whenever they meet us, they try not to keep the ball for long, so you don’t get to have the chance to muscle them off the ball. It has always been their tactic….Argentina will do the same thing most probably.

        Apt….uou nailed it

      • @Ola, you are wrong that South America are always hard to beat by African countries. Cameroon always handle them perfectly. It all depends on the boys mindset.
Even, before the game against Brazil I knew that Brazil would win from Bosso formation. Bosso only need to use 4:3:3 and defend well. But Fredrick was off and he was using three defenders on match that Brazil life depends on was a big mistake despite the fact that Brazilian coaching crew were technically sound than ours.

Though, I wish us the best but match against Argentina need sound technical input from the bench as the match progresses. Not just to put the guys on the field and depend on individual ability.

I wish the entire team best of luck.

He had a plan,he ringed changes against brazil knowing too well wehv qualified already. The defeat to brazil was a master plan watch out for them against Argentina it will shock you bros!

      • Correct..like he had all to prove!just a reminder you are on 6 points going into that match.

      • He had a plan indeed to play the best team in group(Argentina)rather than play a third place team..though am not writing the team off but the approach against Brazil was wrong.

      • Master planner my foot

  • The wish of Nigerians is for the boys to beat Argentina and so shall it be.

Nigeria will win if Bosso selects the right players. There’s no need to panic Argentina will loose to Brazil as well.

  • Does anybody know the reason why Fredrick didn’t play against Brazil ?

    • He was at risk of missing the next game against Argentina with a yellow card in his Last game..

I urge everyone to remain optimistic. Like i posited just before our game against italy which most people thought we’d lose, i strongly believe we can spring surprises if the coach and players can get their acts together Yet again. If they could remain disciplined, tactical and resolute like they did against Italy, we shall carry the day. After all, they didn’t perform badly against Brazil. Had the shots we had at the Brazilian goal that hit the bar had gone in, it would have been a draw or a win against them. In fact, At a point, the Brazilians began to beg for the game to finish bcs our boys were all over them threatening their goal in the process. So, it is possible for us to get a good result against Argentina. The boys should know that this is a great opportunity to avenge our painful loss against them Some years ago. That match is still fresh in my memory and still hurts, and nothing can do justice to that loss other than a win against them in their own backyard. All the best boys, u can do it!!!!! Mr boso, pls, less the talk and focus

Nigeria will be at Argentina 2-1…..Come back to this after the game. The coach needs to tell this young men that this is the biggest game of their career thus far and it could change their destiny for the rest of their lives…..And it’s true this game will have the. Cynosure of all eyes….Leagues have ended and the world will tune in to watch the host of the u29 go against the dark horses from Africa.

With Fredrick coming back and a solid midfield combo of Nnadi and Daga with Eletu in a compact 4-3-3 we can win this game. If our antecedents against South American teams are anything to go by, it will be a very tough game for our boys. However, I have a feeling and I hope they come out top tomorrow. Frederick is the best defender we have along with Ogwuche who reminds me of Taribo.

I have to be honest the fullbacks or wing backs are the weak links of this team. Agbalaka is strong in tackles and defending but a liability when he venture forward and hardly contributes anything offensively. Bameyi is not a traditional RB but he’s kinda better than Njoku from the look of things.

Eletu needs to step up if he’s fully fit. I think he doesn’t need to start the last game after coming off with a cramp in the Italy match. I hope he’s fully fit to face the Argentines. The attack of Salem, Sunday and Sarki should start with Emmanuel Umeh and Beji Mohamed providing more options. Beji has been terribly disappointing by his standards. I hope they all raise their games and be counted in history.

Having said that irrespective of the outcome I believe we have some upcoming generation coming through for the SuperEagles in this team. Fredrick and Ogwuche have a bright future. Same with Daga, Eletu and Nnadi in the midfield. They can surely help with our midfield issues in the SuperEagles along with Akinsanmiro. The future is looking good if we can put our house in order.

The problem with Nigerian coaches is the inability to understand the science of soccer, psychology and physical education . Here’s a man who did not know how to beat Brazil but now knows how to beat Argentina

  • Bosso talks more than thinking. That’s his strength. A good coach will not approach the match against Brazil that way evennwith Frederick not playing. The nencywon it for Brazil. He should watch Atlanta 96 matvhes. Against Brazil we did what he did in the first half. But in the second half kudos to the players they matvhed Brazil on every soace of the field. Amokachi was bullish in that game. He bullied even ines men in that match. You don’t play Brazil and give them space.

In 1996 final against Argentina, the boys leaned their lessons and covered every space.

Tomorrow Argentina is playing at home the noys have to play with their guts and leave no space. Bosso should have a plan before the game.

To me, I have little hope. It’s 20-80. Nut the talents from this team should be encouraged

The Ladan Bosso talks too much. And he is nepotistic in his team’s selection. He is an underachiever, so if he loses this match, he should be retired from age-group football coaching. How can a coach start timid attackers and midfielders in the first halves of crucial matches and bring the best legs in the second halves? I am very pessimistic about that match. He had no plans but empty boasts

    • Pio Carlos 11 months ago

I wonder why they keep recycling him. His technical ability is below average. I can’t understand why they continue to keep him even when he failed

  • Pio Carlos 11 months ago

This man Bosso talks too much. He said he was prepared for Brazil, what happened? Now his big mouth about Argentina. During the African qualifiers, Our boys were better, but our Coach is deficient. Against Brazil, the Coach was poor. I hope against Argentina, the boys will not rely on him.

You guys criticism are in valid when we won against italy he wasnt the names you guys are calling him now because he lost to brazil, first of all every football expert knows brazil was likely to win that game even if they where playing against spain italy or france, its brazil we are talking about here, we already qualified and they needed the game to secure their own qualification, they are in their continent and they are also the biggest football nation in the world so what do you guys expect, beating brazil is always by chances you cannot boost of it likewise argentina, if bosso loose to argentina it wont be a total failior becos argentina is a big team and they play at home i will still commend this team and the coach, the team only lack that number 9 like chinedu ogbuke in 2005, ideye in 2007, awoniyi 2015 this is not bosso fault we simply dont have a quality striker of that age category for now, many guys were tried and fago seems to be the best among them, every other position players are good, they also play good football, senegal that is afcon champions couldnt qualify, honestly i cant concur with all your criticism we should be proud of these guys.

In 1996, brazil bit nigeria in the Group stage, we later won against brazil in the semis via kanu’s golden goal, it was never a eąsy ģamę against brazil as they where leading 3 1 before the miracle of kanu, if it was a knock out game brazil couldnt have won that match our boys where not very seriouse with them, i think the lost is a blessing in disguise, nigeria performs best when you underate them, argentina will lose to nigeria tomorow, the game will really surprise them as it was to italy.

  • Snappy Croc 11 months ago

Nigeria has won the match all of you saying nonsense about ladan bosso.
