The 2026/27 Nigeria National League ,NNL, season will get underway on Saturday, October 31, Completesports.com reports.
The commencement date was ratified at the league’s Annual General Meeting ,AGM, held in Owerri on Friday.
Clubs participating in the new campaign have been divided into four conferences — Southern Conference A and B, as well as Northern Conference A and B.
The format is expected to ensure a competitive campaign, with teams battling for promotion to the Nigeria Premier Football League ,NPFL.
The top team from each of the four conferences will secure automatic promotion to the NPFL at the end of the season.

The four promoted clubs will then compete in a mini-tournament to determine the overall NNL champions for the 2026/27 campaign.
The new season is expected to witness another intense battle for promotion, with several clubs aiming to earn a place in the Nigerian top-flight.
Sporting Lagos, Inter Lagos, Doma United and Ranchers Bees secured promotion to the NPFL at the end of the 2025/26 season.
The quartet will now test themselves in the top- flight, while clubs competing in the NNL will look to follow in their footsteps by securing promotion at the end of the new campaign.
Further details regarding the fixtures and other arrangements for the season are expected to be communicated to participating clubs ahead of the October 31 kick-off.
