Super Eagles midfielder, Wilfred Ndidi has said coming up against their former coach Gernot Rohr will be a big motivating factor for the team in Monday’s 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying match.
Rohr was in charge of the Super Eagles for five years before he was sacked in December 2021.
The Frenchman will lead the Squirrels against the Super Eagles at the Felix Houphouet Boigny Stadium, Abidjan on Monday (today).
Ndidi stated that he is looking forward to the game which is important to the Super Eagles quest of securing a place at the mundial.

“Gernot Rohr coached us for five years, but within those years players are coming, players are going.
“Facing him is actually a motivation because we know he’s a good coach, and we know he’s going to plan to win.
“We approaching that game we have to show him that he actually missed something in the team, that’s what we have to do now.”
The highly anticipated encounter will kick-off at 5pm Nigeria time.
