Former Nigerian midfielder, Garba Lawal has insisted that Super Eagle coach, Gernot Rohr has no excuse not qualifying Nigeria for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
He made this known on the backdrop of the Premier League clubs to prevent players who are from the red-list countries where the covid-19 third waves are on the rise.
Recall that Nigeria’s players could also be affected and players such as William Troost Ekong, Peter Etebo, Wilfred Ndidi, Kelechi Iheanacho, Alex Iwobi, and Semi Ajayi may be forced to stay away from the game.
However, ‘Chindo’ as he was fondly called during his playing days, told Brila FM that Rohr has no excuses to qualify Nigeria for the World Cup.

“I believe Mr. Rohr can’t say with all what is going on we can’t play football, if plan A it’s not working, you deploy plan B.”
“The way he decides to manage the games depends solely on him, we are not panicking – Rohr had spent four to five years in Nigeria, so he ought to have known how to unravel a headway in situations like this,” Lawal said.
“That’s why we kept insisting always, he uses new players during friendly games. Cape Verde is a strong side that’s why it is very important you have tested new players for times like this.”

If “The way he (Rohr) decides to manage the SE depends solely on him” why then is Mr Lawal granting useless interviews about the management of the SE….? LMAOOoo.
Rather than CSN putting a call accross to Rohr to interview him directly and hear stories from the horse’s mouth, they’ll prefer to interview people who have absolutely no idea of the running of the team, nor have ZERO contributions to offer as far as the field of coaching is involved.
CSN is fast becoming an epitome of every failed system within the Nigerian context. This definitely isnt the CSN of the days of Oga Mumuni Alao

I think the most annoying part about these “ex-internationals” is that they always sounds negative and yet still say nothing. I mean nothing at all – no analysis, no specialist contribution, no, nothing at all. Even Cambell that seems to be eyeing arteta job at arsenal gave a peek of what he can do tactically wise. And he was correct!
The underlying question was how do you stop your opponent’s two-man marking system. His solution was to flatten the midfield. That is, in football, this often (not all the time) requires you play with four midfielders and instruct them to position themselves horizontally on the field. The effect is that space increases on the field thus creating more ground to cover for the markers. While one of the forwards from your team occasionally drops back to retrieve the ball from the midfielders.
In all honesty have you heard a super eagles “ex-international” give such analysis, especially on this platform? Or is Cambell not an ex-international? At least the job you are eyeing be prepared and equipped for it. Not “Rohr should know super eagles needs to qualify” or “Rohr should select a fit team” – I mean come on; did Rohr ever announce he will be visiting the hospitals to inspect who is injured so that it is those he will include in his list???!!
Rohr MUST have breakfast tomorrow morning. No exceptions!

Nigeria does not deserve to be at the World Cup if it cannot pay coaches’ salaries and players’ allowances.
Imagine staying at a hotel on credit and still asking for the presidential suite. Laughable indeed!
Lawal as a former player should understand how unfortunate the situation is. Chances are that Lawal himself is still being owed bonuses from his playing days! They are demanding flawless performance from someone THEY ARE OWING. Players they’re owing for over 2 years should come and shed blood to qualify, so they can go on junket to Qatar next year, lavishly tripping around on red carpets funded by estacode. If not for the innocent fans who deserve better, and the players themselves, it is obvious that Nigeria has no business qualifying for any major tournaments, especially the one for the best of the best in the world, the world cup.
NFF needs to get their act together. Get away from this owing mentality. Owing all over the place. If they go to a restaurant, they will likely attempt to eat on credit!
I believe an organization independent of the NFF should handle disbursement of NFF funds, and that organization should be audited annually.

They ar always talking nonsense. The ex-internationals are envious of the man, starting with Segun Odegbami who said Rohr was a failure for not winning 2018 World Cup.
Their aim is to turn Super Eagles to the retirement benefits of ex internationals.
