Access Bank, VISA To Reward Customers With Trip To Qatar 2022 World Cup

Access Bank, VISA To Reward Customers With Trip To Qatar 2022 World Cup

Access Bank in collaboration with VISA will reward customers with an all expense paid trip to this year’s FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

This was disclosed on Friday by the Deputy Managing Director Access Bank, Victor Etuokwu, at five-aside football match between Retail South and Retail North which the former won 2-1.

The match took place at the Upbeat Centre, Lekki Phase 1, Lagos and also had in attendance former Super Eagles stars Victor Ikpeba and Ogenyi Onazi.

Fielding questions from journalists at the event, Etuokwu stated the importance of the football match, what ‘Road to Qatar’ is about and how customers can be a part of it.

“The football game is in line with what we do in Access Bank. We love sport and we understand the role of sport and the capability of sport in driving national well being.

“So this season of football and this year being a World Cup year, we try to bring people together using sport and to get them to first of all exercise, keep fit and then engage in economic activity that would benefit them. So this is tagged ‘Road to Qatar’ because we Access Bank in collaboration with VISA are putting this together for staff and also using it to tell all Nigerians that VISA and Access Bank want to reward people for transacting using VISA. If you have the VISA card and Access Bank card, use it, do at least three transactions and you will start winning a lot of rewards. 15,000, 30,000 and you qualify for gifts across our branches across the country and also one or two or three people would be given an all expense paid ticket to watch the World Cup in Qatar this year. So this is all this is about.

“Beyond going to Qatar or beyond qualifying for a raffle draw or benefits and incentives, just being fit is important. And we also want Nigerians to be aware of digital transactions. Use your cards because it is safer, we need to begin to remove cash from our economy because cash has a cost to it. And the less cash we use to transact as Nigerians the better for the economy. So it is more than just being able to go to Qatar, it’s about how you transact which helps to energize the economy.“

On the disappointment that the Super Eagles will not be in Qatar for the World Cup, Etuokwu said:“It would have been wonderful if the Super Eagles had qualified for the World Cup. But the World Cup is always a spectacle, whether we are there or not it is always a spectacle. It will still be fun whether you watch it on television or you go there. You need to be in a stadium for a World Cup match, it’s electrifying, it’s something you cannot describe.

“So whether we are there or not it will still be worth attending and worth watching. However, Nigeria will be missed from the World Cup and I’m hoping that we will be there next four years.”

And on whether the VISA card can be used in the stadium in Qatar:“If you go to any national tournament sponsored by VISA, in the stadium and around the stadium the only instrument that work are the cards of that sponsor. So your cards will work. Whether it’s naira or dollar, debit or credit card, it will work.”
