World record holder Tobi Amusan is keen to retain her Women’s 100m hurdles title at the 2026 African Senior Athletics Championship, Completesports.com reports.
Amusan breezed into the final of the event after winning her heat with a season’s best time of 12.82s.
The 29-year-old will be gunning for a third title at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium, Accra on Wednesday (today).
Amusan Wants Another Title
The Nigerian superstar declared that she is focussed on the task ahead.

“I’m thankful to be here, representing my country, step by step on the line. I’m looking forward to defending my title tomorrow (today),” Amusan told reporters.
“I’m just here doing my thing, It’s an amazing atmosphere. Ghana is always welcoming when it comes to hosting Championship like this. I’m just excited to be here.”
On Season’s Target
The former world champion also emphasized the importance of carefully managing her schedule ahead of what promises to be a demanding season.
“My coaches, and I, we sat down before the season started, and spoke about the races to compete in. The few ones we selected , I’m actually managing my body,” added Amusan.
“Since 2023, I have had series of injuries, behind the scene, I’m just listening to my body, and taking things easy this year.”
