Adarabioyo Joins Aina, Lookman At Fulham

Nigerian defender Tosin Adarabioyo has joined Ademola Lookman and Ola Aina at London club Fulham from Manchester City on a permanent transfer, Completesports.com reports.

Adarabioyo completed the move on transfer Deadline Day late on Monday night.

Fulham in a statement said:”The Club is delighted to announce the permanent signing of centre-back Tosin Adarabioyo from Manchester City.

“A powerful and athletic defender, 23-year-old Adarabioyo has agreed a three-year deal at Craven Cottage, with Fulham holding the option to extend by an additional 12 months.”

Speaking after the transfer was confirmed, Adarabioyo said: “I’m very excited, very excited to get going and finally be playing Premier League football.

“I felt like the time was right to leave the [Man City] and push on. It was the right time in my career to move on and hopefully get a lot of Premier League games.”

Born in Manchester, Adarabioyo has spent most of his life at City, progressing through the age groups and was made Under-18s captain aged just 16.

His first team debut for the club came in the FA Cup in February 2016, and he leaves with eight City appearances to his name, four of which came in the Champions League.

Adarabioyo’s first prolonged spell of senior football came when he was loaned out to West Bromwich Albion in 2018/19, featuring 36 times as the Baggies reached the Play-Offs.

He was back in the Championship the following season, excelling as part of an impressive Blackburn Rovers side who were in contention for a Play-Off spot after the restart.

Also on Monday night, Ruben Loftus-Cheek signed for Fulham on loan from Chelsea.

“I’m really happy to come ‘next door,’ if you will!” Loftus-Cheek said after completing the move.

“I watched Fulham at the start of the season and they looked like they’re playing decent football. With this Manager, I think I can get back to my best football. That’s the main thing for me, to find my form and help this team win games.”

One thing about this lad is seize every opportunity to remind people that he is Nigerian.. Go to his social medial handle you will understand better.

our coach need to convince more top level Nigeria players in europe, world cup is coming and we need to reach semis finals atleast if we claim to be giant of Africa in football, ghana and senegal and cameroun is supper powers in Africa, so we need to get more players specially defenders and tireless midfielders. the reason why i like Oyibo coach, they dont take bribe, they want to make name first, look at coaches Nff imploy for uder17 and 20s, hungry coaches everybody know they must take bribe in screeming those junior boys, so if poor man pikin is ronaldo or messi, them no go pick him? theirs alot of players but they dont have anybody to sponsor them. black coaches should stop taking bribe before they fish out uder17 and 20s, look at last under17, rich men children, from 80s down, is hard to see rich men children play football, is only poor men children but now everybody want his child to play football weather talent is there or not because of money in football, toffiakwa.

Our defence is now fully covered with influcks of Adarabioyo, akpogouma, udokahi, ehiezube and more but my major concern is our midfield. We could all see that when Osimhen asked to be excused from the coming friendly matches no one seems to get worried because we have many attacking options who are also very equal to the task. But now that we won’t have Aribo, indidi and etebo I think we are short of options of trusted soldiers in that midfield. Apart from iwobi, I don’t think Frank Onyeka and Mikel Agu (despite all the chances given to the later but fumbled in many occasion) can stand their feet and give us the quality service we need in that midfield although I stand to corrected. Coach GR and his crew need to scout for good midfielders. God bless Nigeria and God bless Africa.

    • I bet that coach Rohr is working on this midfield palava… It’s unfortunate that several of our main guys in that department are unavailable for this match, but let’s see what Tijani, Onyeka, and Agu can do then we will know if they are capable or not.

      • Guy our Midfield is injured lets be honest Ndidi, Aribo are very important to our cause even Etebo to an extent but Azeez can cover that Ajayi can step in CDM but sill Ndidi and Aribo a very big miss. Aribo showed us all what we were missing in that Midfield (something Nwakali will bring when he catch form God willing) but with out Aribo now then problem, Etebo is the only one who can stand in for Ndidi(biggest Miss) and Etebo if injured now he is Injured Too too. Let me not even talk off Ndidi Leicester city wey dey loose consecutive Match if Ndidi get injured Na dem una supposed ask wettin dey if Ndidi is Injured.

In attack Everybody is Saying Osimhen being forced too Self quarantine by Napoli and as a result missing the game is not the a big loss? Una go hear word regarding dat Matta when we meet Algeria. You forget Osimhen 2 goals two assist against Lesotho not too forget Osimhen, Ndidi and Aribo performance against Brazil and Ukraine. Una go see matta come Friday.

  • All four Anglo-Nigerian footballers at Fulham are set to play together in the Super Eagles.Apart from Ola Aina, who has already accumulated some caps for the Super Eagles after switching allegiance to Nigeria,it’s interesting to note that the trio of Josh Onomah,Ademola Lookman and Tosin Adarabioyo have reportedly filed their applications to FIFA for change of association from England to Nigeria, and are currently awaiting the approval of the world’s football governing body to enable them lace their boots for the Super Eagles. Congratulations to Tosin Adarabioyo on his move to Fulham. #Up Super Eagles# .We are becoming formidable!

The young man will be under intense pressure to perform at the club. Most of their new buys are on loan and have nothing to lose irrespective of where the club finishes at the end of the season as they will return to their parent clubs. I wish him all the best.

I hope the above news in the above link about Tosin Adarabioyo targeting England call up is not true. After all they did the same thing to Cyriel Dessers, only for the Belgian-Nigerian striker to refute the claims by some sections of the Western Press.Adarabioyo should please allay our fears just like Desserts, who is now with the Super Eagles in Austria.

  • Whether the story is true or not, there is no reason to worry. We have more than enough defenders with more being targeted. So if he chooses England over Nigeria that’s his choice. I wont worry over that.

  • @tancosport I think that’s what makes the match More intriguing don’t you think so??
Who knows we may just uncover our most potent, dogged and most flamboyant midfield combination of this generation….with the combo of Mikel Agu/Ajayi(Dm), oyenka (Cm), and iwobi (as Am)

  • Guy the mid field wey we get now. No strong At all tell me what the coach will do. aribo showed us all what we were missing in that Midfield (something Nwakali will bring when he catch form God willing) but with out Aribo now then problem, Etebo is the only one who can stand in for Ndidi(biggest Miss) and Etebo if injured now he is Injured Too too. • Adarabioyo joining Fulham and swelling the rank of the Nigerian continent at the club is the more reason Nigerians should be praying Fulham do not go on relegation at the end of the season especially considering they’ve not started the season impressively as they are yet to gain a point in four matches played so far, else as many as four Nigerian players with the club could go down with them.
