Adepoju: Ighalo Still Good Enough To Play For Super Eagles

Former Super Eagles midfielder Mutiu Adepoju believes Odion Ighalo still has what it takes to play for the team following his impressive performance for Premier League club, Manchester United.

Ighalo, 30, has scored four goals in eight outings in all competitions for the Red Devils following his arrival on loan from Chinese Super League outfit, Shanghai Shenhua in January.

The former Watford striker scored a brilliant goal and recorded an assist in United’s 5-0 Europa League win against Austrian club, LASK on Thursday night.

Ighalo called time on his international career after emerging top scorer at the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt with five goals.

He also scored 16 goals in 35 appearances for Nigeria.

“With his kind of form, it won’t be a crime to drag Odion Ighalo back to the Super Eagles. Well done,” Adepoju tweeted.

Ighalo is yet to find the back of the net in the Premier League in four appearances for his new club but will hope to do so when the Red Devils travel to London to face Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday.

So just because ighalo is scoring for Manchester United’ he is now viewed as a demi-god_ which I for one consider a huge insult for anybody to think that Ighalo with all his wealth of experience would not be able to do…
Even a little 17yr old Guinean boy is tuning it up at Barca.

Football is so over hyped sometimes to make people feel intimidated’
If Ighalo is to come out of retirement then Ibrahimovic and vardy likes should all do same..

How old is Ibra and Verdy as to compare them to Igalo.Verdy is about 4 or 3 years older than Igalo while Ibra is about 8 years older,so no basis for comparison.

IGALO deserves every attention he’s getting now as he has had his fare share of bashing.Whether u like it or not he’s the best thing to have come out of Nigeria Football right now.Tell me which Nigeria player right now plays in such a big and traditional team?nil.Pls respect him for who and what he is cos he’s our own.

Having Igalo back to the SE is not a big deal,it should come as a matter of right for him cos he’s a Nigeria and doing great right now.

Igalo I await u right now.
