Equatorial Guinea goalkeeper, Jesús Owono has been named Man of the Match after helping the team to a 1-1 draw against the Super Eagles in today’s 2023 Africa Cup of Nations group A game.
Owono, who plays for La Liga club Deportivo Alavés was at his best mettle as he stopped virtually all the attacks that the Super Eagles mounted on him.

Recall that Owono was the stumbling block as he prevented Simon Moses, Ola Aina and couple of players that should have been a goal.
Except for Osimhen’s goal that went past him, Owono was simply the best player for Equatorial Guinea as he made several saves to help his team secure a precious point against the Super Eagles.

Well deserved, you predicted that Nigeria wouldn’t win and you made sure of that. Kudus to you
Is not even that. Coming into this game Equatoria guinea remains unbeaten from 2023 till now
Pls CSN, please help us tell them Owono is also a 2nd choice Gk in his club too and has only played 270 minutes of football the whole season.
Being a 2nd choice Gk in an European club is not a crime against humanity. Being a seasoned international is not what money or 38 league appearances in one season can buy.
A 30 international capped GK is 100 times better than a 0 international capped GK
Yes I said so.
Crap as usual. You wan compare someone playing in a better league to a basket thar pays his way to come concede easy goals. You yourself know if Equatorial Guinea had those chances our strikers had with that basket head in goal, those will be goals. Abeg go focus on your squirrels and leave the Eagles alone.
Hahahaha…okponu….and the only chance EG had in the game, did your overconfident new enyeama even make an effort to stop it.
The solution to our so-called goalkeeping crisis who is far better than Uzoho has conceded 3 goals on his first 2 matches….1 from a GK blunder vs Guinea, another from poor positioning and flat foot vs E.Guinea…..LMAOoo
All of a sudden playing 3 games (not even league games o) a whole season has become acceptable….LMAOoo
I thought being a 2nd choice goalkeeper at club level means a keeper wouldn’t be able to perform at international level….LMAOoo
Okponu arindin oshi.
It was nothing but a training match for the Eagles. I believe they are getting to understand themselves having not played together in such a while. Let’s see what Ivory Coast brings. Meanwhile, the Osimhen header was cool and besides, Alhassan and Chukweze need more game time hoping Alhassan is fit.
This guy will CERTAINLY move to a BIGGER Club in the summer!!
I’m 99.999999% sure plenty scouts are snooping on him, including Man U scouts sef hahahahahahahahahahahaha
