AAC: Brume Clinches Gold In Women’s Long Jump

Ese Brume has won gold in the long jump event at the 2024 African Athletics Championship in Douala, Cameroon.

Brume is now a four-time long jump champion a d remain undefeated in Africa in eight years.

The Nigerian long jump star was sitting in second place behind Marthe Koala of. Burkina Faso, who was leading with 6.72m after five attempts.

Brume dug really deep on her wealth of experience, landing a final round jump of 6.73m to land the gold medal.

Nigeria’s Prestina Ochonogor was also in action in the long jump final and finished fourth with 6.28m.

In the women’s high jump final event Temitope Adeshina picked up the silver medal.

Ghana’s Rose Yeboah won the gold medal with a best effort of 1.87m, repeating their placements the last time they met at the NCAA Championships.
