Aina Excited Over Torino’s Escape From Relegation In A ‘Rough Season’

Super Eagles defender, Ola Aina has admitted that Torino had a rough season, but he is a relieved man after his club eventually survived going into relegation, Completesports.com reports.

Aina featured as Torino drew 1-1 with Bologna in their last Serie A game of the season on Sunday after Simone Zaza’s goal wiped out Mattias Svanberg’s opener.

23-year-old Aina thereafter took to the social media where he wrote: “Finito. Rough season but we pulled through,” the Nigerian international
posted on Twitter.

All through the 2019/20 season, Aina failed to find the back of the net in the Italian Serie A, having registered only two assists in 32
appearances for Torino.

He scored one goal in 30 matches in the Italian top-flight during the 2018/19 season after linking up with the Maroons on loan from former club-side, Chelsea.

The Nigerian defender is set to have a new manager at Torino next season with Marco Giampaolo the club’s first choice to take over the reins from Moreno Longo.

La Gazzetta dello Sport via MilanLive.it also report that former AC Milan goalkeeper Nelson Dida could be the goalkeeping coach of Toro’s first team next season.

Meanwhile, Aina whose deal with Torino runs until the summer of 2023 is being tracked by Paris Saint-Germain, Everton, West Ham United, Fiorentina and AC Milan.
