Chelsea would be without Ross Barkley, N’Golo Kante, Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen as the battle Ajax in the Champions League Group H match.
Lampard has expressed confidence in his team as they prepare to face their toughest opponent yet in this season’s competition.
“We have confidence in ourselves, but it’s a tough match,” said Lampard. “I watched them play last year and I know their team has changed slightly. I’m very aware of the new threats they have.
“They’ve won their two Champions League games convincingly.”

Ajax lost to Tottenham in dramatic circumstances after making it to the semi-finals last season. They have however lost some of their wonderful players like Matthijs De Ligt and Frenkie De Jong but the addition of Quincy Promes to their attack could serve as a consolation to make a triple threat combination of Dusan Tadic and Hakim Ziyech.
Lampard knows his side are in for a tough one but has faith in his young side to get a positive result.
Ajax side have no injury issues to worry about as duo Donny van de Beek and Nicolas Tagliafico were both rated as doubtful at one point but have since been passed fit to play.
Chelsea would have both Barkley and Kante back during the weekend but are not fit to face Ajax. Rudiger and Christensen still have months to stay off.
Lampard’s men bounced back from a disappointing defeat to Valencia on Matchday 1, with a victory over Lille, and could do with at least a point against Ajax, who currently top the group with six points from six.
