The defeat means West Brom are winless in back-to-back games since football returned in England.

The Baggies temporarily remain top on 71 points same points as second-placed Leeds, who could claim number one spot if they beat visiting Fulham on Saturday.

This weekend games in the Championship will see seven round of fixtures left before the regular season ends.

And in the Turkish 1st Lig  (second division), Shehu Abdullahi helped promotion hopefuls Bursaspor beat Adanaspor 1-0.

Abdullah made his 28th league outing this season against Adanaspor and has scored four goals so far.

He was replaced with seven minutes remaining in the game which was Bursaspor’s 30th of the campaign with four games left to play.

Tayfur Bingol’s eight minute strike was enough to secure the win for Bursaspor who took part in their second game since football resumed in Turkey.

Bursaspor are third ( promotion play-off spot) on 49 points in the 18-team league table.

  • Semilogo’s West Bromwich need to keep focus with the remaining 7 league games to earn passage to the Premiership ahead of Leeds united. Winless in the last three games doesn’t show their seriousness in Premiership promotion quest.

It’s high time Shehu Abdullah started considering defensive midfield role. He’s a versatile player who Started as a DM while at Kano Pillars before exploring the right wing back where he’s made remarkable progress. With the growing number of enterprising youngsters in the Super Eagles set up- Ola Aina, Kingsley Ehizhue and the recent deployment of Awaziem following his impressive showing at the right back at the last AFCON, it would not be out of place for dutiful Shehu to start considering defensive midfield role where Ndidi presently looks to be the only stand out player with the absence of reliable Mikel Ndubuisi Agu. The likes of Etebo and Ramon Azeez have been given a makeshift roles in the past.
It would be recalled Shehu’s consistent showing at the right back largely contributed to Nigeria’s world cup qualification especially against the Indomitable Lions of Cameron where he bagged the man-of-the-match award.
