Akpeyi Set To Dump Kaizer Chiefs For Belgian Club

Kaizer Chiefs could make a fortune out of their Nigerian goalkeeper Daniel Akpeyi this summer.

Sources have claimed that a Belgian side have enquired about the keeper’s availability for transfer.

“It’s a tempting offer. I don’t know if it has got to the club yet, but it might convince them to let him go,”a reliable source told citizen.co.za.

“I believe it is in the region of 40 to 45 million (rand) and that should be enough to sway their management.”

Akpeyi has had a bittersweet stay at Amakhosi, where he has become the first choice ahead of Itumeleng Khune. But the Amakhosi fans still prefer Khune, and when the Nigerian makes a mistake they land on to him like a ton of bricks.

This could make him jump at a chance to move away to a more recognised league.

  • Well, well, well… Akpeyi to a European league. Now, that will be the greatest turnaround in fortune for a Nigerian goalkeeper that I have ever seen in my lifetime.

Nice one Akpeyi (although this is old news).

I pray this move comes to fruition. From an object of ridicule to a subject of much excitement, something tells me Akpeyi will continue to prove doubters wrong.

I will definitely watch this space!

Deo, the thing is wonderful to behold. The Akpeyesque one is breaking new boundaries 🙂 🙂 🙂
That means he must be improving rapidly. He is no longer the absent minded, jittery Akpeyi that sends shivers down my spine whenever I see him in goal for Nigeria. He has me sweating profusely with elevated BP. Sheer panic and unease, any ball going towards our goal area has me standing up from the couch apprehensively. Guy, it is no joke. I hope we will be privileged to see a new era, where the Akpeyesque one stands tall between the sticks, and handles his business in a confident, assured manner!

    Hehehehehe.

….”Ighalo is not the type of Striker we need in the SE”…Ighalo moved to ManU and doesn’t waste time in shacking nets for the Red devils.

….”‘Akpayi’ is not the type of keeper we need in the SE”…. ‘Akpayi’ benches 2 national team gks in his club, goes ahead to win the league with his team, wins GK of the season in a league that’s has the national team goal keepers of 7 other countries and moves to Belgium thereafter.

    Fingers crossed though…!

But something tells me somebody is about to be made to bite the dust once more…LMAO.
Pls don’t ask me who it is.

Some people commenting here are just too petty! Always spoiling for a fight…

By the way, congratulations Mr. Akpeyi. I hope this turns out well for you.

    • Some people enjoy quarrels too much as Mr Bomboy have said already.

Everybody must not like akpeyi (including me),he lacks confidence and always prone to mistakes.
We are only managing him since we don’t have much options.

Anyways I will always wish him well.
