Akpeyi Speaks On Missing Out Of AFCON Qualifiers

Super Eagles goalkeeper, Daniel Akpeyi has revealed that the senior national team is open to every player and that he will always wait for his time despite not been invited for the Benin and Lesotho 2021 AFCON qualifiers.

The  Kaizer Chiefs goaltender made this known in a chat with a Lagos based Radio station, where he said that nothing surprises him in the Super Eagles

Akpeyi also said that he will continue to support the team in their quest to qualifying for the bi-annual tournament.

“The truth is that is I keep my thoughts open and as far as I’m concerned, nothing surprises me in football anymore, because I’ve been in the game for long to understand what it’s all about,” Akpeyi said.

“All I just need to do is to focus on my club because I’m not contracted to the national team. I need to focus on where I have a contract and do my best.

“National team is opened to everyone and it’s a privilege to be called up into the national team.”

“And again, whoever is in charge of the national team can decide to call anyone he likes and I need to support the national team.”

My fantasy team. GK Akpeyi Def Azubuike Egwueke Md Mikel Agu ATK  Ighalo partners his senior brother Yakubu. Not forgetting to have Agbim in the bench as my utility player. In the technical crew instructions will be coming from Coach Ladan Bosso assisted by Imama and Goalkeeper trainer Alloy Agu.

@JimmyBall no be small thing i wonder how Nigeria will continue to survive this kind of players. They must be guilty for various hypertensions. Yakubu worst o not even one trophy yet he played for some decent clubs. To think of it how is Ladan Bosso president of Nigeria coach union? Hmm he will only be promoting mediocrity because he doesn’t have a decent CV. Messiah will come and help us one day as a country.
