In my opinion after Victor Osimhen this guy chuba Akpom and Victor Boniface comes next as far as this season is concerned… I would like to add Elijah Adebayo also deserves his worthy mention but I think Chuba has been on the cusp of earning his cap for Nigeria far too long…

Let the likes of Awoniyi, Sadiq Umar and Chukwueze please wait on the sidelines and continue to improve their game… they have had more than a fair share of playing time in Super Eagles and we need to see other people. Shikena… my take!

    • Now that the winds of change appear to be blowing in the direction of homebased inclusion, you might want to add Eyimba’s Joseph Atule in the mix.

He is good in the air and nimble on his feet.

      • @deo that Joseph Atule guy is Weak and cannot bench any player in Ukrainian league talkless of leagues our Current Attackers play in..

@deo we should not be Accepting this saying that we should look in the direction of homebased because the winds of change are favouring them.

So what you are saying We fans should just stay numb and Watch a Script we all saw possibility in playing out actually play out??.. No ways bros.. NPFL players do not merit a place and to say we should just sit and watch them destroy our Ball without Vocing concern is all to Nigerian for me. So we should allow NFF rape us like the Nigerian Government having been doing for Years.. NO NO NO!!!!!!!>.

Finidi GUys like Akpom Need to be given the Nod before any Local player… unless that Player can prove he is better than Akpom how? do something ridiculous Score 30 goals in a NPFL season or Carry his team on his back to CAF Champions League Glory And WIN CHAN FOr Nigeria then I will be Convinced this Player is good enough to battle the likes of Osimhen, Boniface, Awoniyi, Orban And Akpom for a place in SE and even then he will still not be guaranteed but at least you can say his he merited his place. @deo been good in the Air and Nimble fit against NPFL teams is not the same as doing it against Defenders from Sundowns and Al Alhly talkless of Boniface Ivorian team mate Kossonou.

@deo it is not everything we must Tolerate

Ins’t he better than your Chukwueze, simon, and lookman.

    • Dr. Drey 1 week ago

Haba…Deo, what is this…? Is this the player that should be called up into the SE in the near future…?

Please take down this video if it is still possible. Its a doing a terrible marketing job of the said player.

All I see is a player with Zero end-product….a low-budget Anayo Iwuala.

    • Hahaha! Wo, Dr Drey, Ex-Prince of Monaco and other members of the “NFF Technocrat, sorry, Technical Committee” that placed Finidi in the role are already mentioning enhanced opportunities for homebased players.

“Finidi lives here, he works here (as coach of NPFL champions Enyimba). He will give the local players a chance in his team. He will have to look inwards, that’s how we got the player Finidi George.” Said Victor Ikpeba (member of NFF (non) Technical Committee).

So, Dr Drey, me I was only preempting what we should expect under the present dispensation in coming months.

If the people who scratched his back by gifting him the role are asking for homebased players, I wonder how Finidi intends to scratch back.

      Interesting times ahead!!

  • I can’t but agree more with@Ugo

We should simply play the deservedly best.

There’s simply no space for an Atule, and I say that respectfully. We should be honest with ourselves if we really want the Eagles to thrive. Currently, The NPFL isn’t good enough to produce the quality deserving of an Eagles call up. And that’s the hard truth. We don’t need to cut our nose to spite our face. The best of us is simply out there in better leagues playing ‘professionally’ rather than this stop gap we call a league.
We must fix the league to the standard that can compete amongst their peers in the continent before we can reasonably speak of an Eagles call up.

Why is the clamour for this local representation always so loud with the Eagles if not for selfish reasons. We hardly hear about such unwarranted call around the Super Falcons. We all know the reasons why. And if you think it is for patriotic and sporting reasons, I dare say you are naive.

We should focus on getting the best legs to come represent us rather than tying our own hands with this unnecessary call for local based players. The Super Eagles is not a developmental or rehab centre. Neither is it a football agency. Only top quality should put on that jersey of the Super Eagles.

  • Sometimes we belittle the status the super eagles gas achieved in football over the years. Super eagles is not a small brand. The best should be playing for the super eagles.

Unfortunately the best is not in our league now.

Just look at the way they play against African clubs.

Let us improve our league first. Let them do well in African clubs competition first. Let them do well in Chan first.

  • When Nigeria is Languising in 100 place in the world And SUPER EAGLES have become a fully blown player trafficking organisation for mid-low tier players for obscure leagues in Europe like i.e Romanian, Luxembourg leagues.. All dual Nationals frozen out of Se as the law would have been passed by then some eyes will clear. Maybe not the fail with our own eyes as they would have had thier wish..

I mean we all saw how theyy destroyed one of the best Male basketball teams in Africa to date the Nigerian FIBA team of late 2010’s to 20’s we all saw it. These people running Nigeria do not like success.. Nigerian cronies will only tolrare success if they are directly benefiting monetarily and even then sabotaging must still creep in

Sorry to say but it seems we are cursed to be from this country. You hate the sound of that. I will repeat it.

    • Sometimes I fear this goes beyond curse. It is just intentional stupidity. We know what is appropriate but chose to be stupid. The most of us are so fickle minded that they are easily swayed by sentiments rather than logic.
Blinded by deep bias, even the most educated of us has become so unwise that they play into false sensationalism pushed by the imprudent we call leaders. These incompetent and corrupt leaders play these tribal, racial, religious and nepotic games and we play along with them. And they know it. So, they keep pressing our buttons. And so, the pain, stagnation and destruction continue.
We have an inept government and their cronies, an overtly corrupt and directionless sporting body and the most egoistic and self-centred ex internationals, all holding us to ransom (These goes for all facet and sector of the Nigerian state). So how do we progress?
The day we as a people allow rationality lead and break away from the aforementioned group and their games, we’ld start to get things right. It takes will, effort and sacrifice. Yet again, the question remains, are we ready?

    LOW BUDGET ANAYO IWUALA.
Kikikikiki hahahahaha, unu no go ki person for here.
Me, I no dey like to yab person wey dey hustle. Aboy dey find em daily bread. Even with the way he dey run kitikiti for pitch, you can sense his hunger to succeed. Good lad, he is.
Who knows, he may be an African Player of the Year in the making.
But for now, we can safely say HE IS NOT THERE YET.
Players like this should cut their teeth with CHAN to start with. Then, if they wash their hands properly, they can eat with the big boys.

    Ugo and Mr. Hush,
I wanted to commend you guys yesterday but somehow forgot. Your concerns are valid indeed.
