Algeria have won their last two encounters against the Super Eagles.

The two-time African champions defeated the Super Eagles 2-1 in the semi-final at the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt.

The North Africans then pipped Nigeria 1-0 in a friendly in Austria in October 2020.

The two countries failed to qualify for the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar losing to Cameroon and Ghana in the playoffs.

A chance to give some new players a run out. By the end of the year, we should aim to have 2 to 3 capable players competing for every position.

    • Hmm…good scouting report with players from Hungary, Sweden, Denmark, USA, Georgia, Norway, Macedonia,Moldova, Czech Republic even Jerusalem Lol! Why don’t we kunkun take our home based team to the friendly instead of all these names? My candid opinion o!

    • Tristan 2 years ago

Old boy, let’s not confuse ourselves with all these players. Today, when you count Nigerians in diaspora, I don’t think any country in Africa has as many players.

Let us look at where we have a current need and where we have lapses. Our defense needs updating, Troost and Balogun are reaching retirement, so we need younger replacements either as understudies or starters. We need a right full-back that can overlap and underlap, especially as an understudy to Aina who in my opinion is not as aggressive or hungry as he used to be.

Our midfield needs to be supplemented, against Ghana we had a lack of midfield players, so we need defensive, box-box, and attacking midfielders, mainly as understudy, squad members, or juniors to current players.

Our forward department is our strongest especially wingers, we have no vacancies there except a player is found with exceptional abilities. But we can also use the opportunity of a friendly to encourage certain players who would normally just miss out in making the squad.

Some of those players are not super eagles materials..

Some names seriously missing on your list

Marvin park ( real Madrid \ las palmas) if we miss this guy we fu.k up, he scored yesterday on his début

    Felix agu( werder Bremen)

    Torungigha ( gent)

    • Marvin Akinlabi Park,Jordan Torunarigha and Felix Agu cannot play for Nigeria without applying for change of federation from FIFA. Is it not wise we make do with Raphael Onyedika,Akinkunmi Amoo,Alhassan Yusuf,Savour Godwin,David Okereke,Yira Sor,Olakunle Olusegun amongst others who are doing well presently with their clubs abroad?

      • Abdul Handsy 2 years ago

I expect these 5 new players:

        1. Osayi-samuel (fenerbahce)

        2. Malcolm Ebiowei (crystal palace)

        3. Alhassan Yusuf (Royal Antwerp)

        4. Raphael Onyedika (FC Midtjylland)

        5. Michael Ologo ( Istanbulspor)

  • Ololo 2 years ago

    Okonkwo ( arsenal/ crewe Alexandra)

    Okoli(atanla)

    Azeez aremu ( st Pauli)

Okoroji ( sandhausen German second decision)

    Jonas David ( harmburga)

These are players in good league.. What those playing in Malta , this is super eagles not u20

    • @Ololo,among the players you mentioned, only Afeez Aremu of St.Pauli ,Germany is eligible to dorn our colours. Caleb Okoli(Atalanta,Italy),Arthur Okonkwo(Crewe Alexandria, England),China Okoroji(SV Sandhausen,Germany) and Jonas Chimezie Benjamin David(Hamburger SV,Germany) will need some kinds of clearance to play for Nigeria-that is if they are willing to come. Thank you.

  • MONKEY POST 2 years ago

Una don come with una CONFUSSION @OLOLO and @HILLARY abeg make una no CONFUSE the COACH..

WE have a TEAM that WE are already WORKING on…

And besides the likes of LOOKMAN, DENNIS, DESSERS, AMOO, EJUKE, ARIBO, SADIQ, BASSEY plus there is AKPOGUMA etc have not fully INTEGRATED and BLENDED into the TEAM yet, una don go dey bring all these DOZENS of ROOKIES because them SCORE or give once in while ASSIST for their INDOMIE LEAGUE…

So na all the whole PLAYERS in the WORLD with NIGERIAN HERITAGE we go INVITE??

  • pompei 2 years ago

Marvin Park, born in Spain to a Naija dad and South Korean mum.
Naija carry last for dis one. Will be surprised if that is not the case. WE MEUVE.

    • @Pompei,Marvin Akinlabi Park had played for Spain at youth level. He cannot play for Nigeria without FIFA clearance and securing Nigerian passport after the process. Besides ,if he is that good, then how come he just joined lowly Las Palmas in the Segunda(Second) division in Spain straight from almighty Real Madrid?

  • The league these players are featuring should not discourage the coaches from calling them up. Most of these players are in form and scoring goals even in European completions with their modest clubs. Saviour Godwin is tearing up defences with his mesmerizing runs down the wings in the Portuguese first division with newly promoted Casa Pia.The duo of Yira Sor and Moses Usor are hogging the headlines in Europe with Slavia Prague. David Okereke is scoring goals for newly promoted serial A side,US Cremonense. AC Milan is chasing the best rated midfielder in the Danish league with FC Midtjylland,Raphael Onyedika. Alhassan Yusuf of Royal Antwerp is making rogues wag and turning heads in the Belgian league. Even in the less fancied USA Major League Soccer(MLS),William Agada is scoring goals with reckless abandon for Sporting Kansas City while Obinna Nwobodo and James Igbekeme are holding their own for Columbus Crew and FC Cincinnati respectively. It is also a pleasant suprise that most ofcyou fans have not been monitoring thecexploits of Jerome Akor and Victor Boniface who recently moved to Belgium from Norway.Turkish clubs are presently courting Sunday Adetunji to prize him away from Shkupi due to his predatory runs and goalscoring instincts. Instead of always begging players with dual nationality to play for Nigeria as most of you are suggesting with Marvin Park,Jordan Torunarigha etc,the players I have mentioned do not need FIFA clearance to play for Nigeria.
