Argentina captain, Lionel Messi, has hailed Manchester City striker Julian Alvarez’s input for the Albiceleste’s (Sky Blue) progress at the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar, labeling his performance as spectacular.
Alvarez has been a revelation on the World stage in Qatar scoring key goals for the Lionel Messi-led side.
Messi spoke highly of Alvarez and said the youngster’s performance has been extraordinary.

“Nobody imagined Julian would have the participation and importance he has shown,” BBC Sport quoted Messi as saying.
“The help he has given us has been absolutely spectacular. During the whole World Cup, but also on Tuesday, he was extraordinary.
“He ran everything, he fought for everything – creating chances, fighting, for us he was the surprise discovery.”
Alvarez has scored four times in six matches played at Qatar 2022.
Albiceleste beat Croatia 3-0 in the semi-finals on December 13 at the Lusail Iconic Stadium.
