The Executive Board of the Anambra State Football Association (ANSFA) has fixed Tuesday, June 30, 2026, for its general election into a new executive board.
The decision was part of resolutions reached during the association’s virtual executive board meeting held on Tuesday, May 26, 2026, where members deliberated on key issues concerning football development in Anambra State.
ANSFA Board Commends Governor Soludo Over Sports Development Drive
In the communiqué issued after the meeting, the board expressed appreciation to the Governor of Anambra State, Professor Charles Chukwuma Soludo, for what it described as his visionary leadership and commitment to revitalising sports in the state.

The board particularly praised the re-establishment of the Ministry of Youth Development and Sports, noting that the initiative would positively impact sports growth and youth development across the state.
ANSFA Congratulates Sports Commissioner Agha Mba
The board also congratulated Agha Mba on his appointment as Commissioner for Youth Development and Sports.
According to the communique, members expressed confidence in his ability to drive sports development and strengthen football administration and athlete development in the state.
ANSFA Celebrates NNL Recognition
ANSFA further congratulated the football community in the state following the association’s recognition by the Nigeria National League (NNL) as the “Best Football Association in Nigeria.”

The board described the award as a testament to the unity, dedication, and collective commitment of stakeholders working towards the advancement of football in Anambra State.
Electoral Committee Directed To Begin Election Preparations
With the tenure of the current executive board scheduled to end on July 27, 2026, members unanimously approved June 30, 2026, for the conduct of the association’s elections.
The board also directed the ANSFA Electoral Committee to immediately commence all necessary preparations to ensure a transparent, credible, peaceful, and hitch-free electoral process in line with established statutes and regulations.
The communique was signed by Chairman of the Drafting Committee, Ralph Chidozie George, and Secretary, Ralph Nweke.
