To God be the glory. Match day is finally here. Let’s hope for the best my people. Ire o. God bless is all. God bless Nigeria!!!

    • Omo9ja 11 months ago

Alhamdulilah for the victory. Congratulations to us Nigerians/Africans. Never say never because when you put God first and you work very hard, this is the result.

However, I was reading so many negative comments here few days ago and I hope those people are still here today?

That means Nigeria/ Africa can still be a better place if we pray and do the needful. Hmm. Congratulations to Flying Eagles. God bless Nigeria!!!

I hope to see this headline: HEAVEN WEPT, FANS SILENCED, TEARS IN THE STADIUM, AS NIGERIA ELIMINATES HOST ARGENTINA.

  • Proudly 9ja 11 months ago

Lets go FE. DON’T concede an early goal. Defenders should stay put and defend well. Would’ve prefered Eletu to Lawal but Bosso knows best lol. Lets go dia. We should have choked this midfield with more bodies

  • Supatemmy 11 months ago

The boys are really impressive so far.

I pray they score ahead of the Argentina

  • Akanlo Ede 11 months ago

    The team is trying.

FE lets keep the clean sheet going into d half. Complete concentration is required in dis game. Ibeji is not himsekf dis tournament. That Emnanuel should come in to take his place in d 2nd half.

  • Lord AMO 11 months ago

The boys are holding their own however our right side is open.  The Argies just haven’t exploited it yet.  I’m sure their coaching staff is going to point that out to their midfielders at halftime.  We need to make that adjustment.  Physically we’ve matched them but we still cant really keep possesion or carve out clear cut chances.  Also our concentration has started to wane in the last 5-8 minutes or so

    • The rate at which our boys are losing ball to the Argentine is alarming to the point of passing ball to opponent.

Our boys need to up their game.

Boring game. Both teams are playing tired. Well let’s hope things change in the second half

FIFA.com or Facebook type arg vs nig u20

  • Bobo Colorado Springs 11 months ago

Half-time 0-0, Very good teams, both teams deserve to be in the next round, unfortunately one of them will be eliminated today, i hope is not the flying Eagles. So far so good. Go Flying Eagles.

  • Chudynak 11 months ago

I don’t even know the tactics this coach is using. If it is deep defending and counter, then it is not working as the Argentines are still breaking our defence with reckless abandon while I have not seen a single counter from our boys!

  • Why has Ladan Bosso reverted to the team that struggle to beat Dominican Republic? This team has quality to go far in this championship but my fear is the level of coaching. He needs to explain his likeness for Mohammed Ibrahim wearing 11 jersey. That guy should be on the bench. If we loose this match, it will be because Bosso is still not up to scratch.

  • Greenturf 11 months ago

Ibeji carelessly gave the ball away twice, error which could have led to a goal against us thank God for our defenders who were able to thwart the Argentina’s effort otherwise we could have been down by now.
Ibeji surprisingly is surplus to requirement and needs to seat out the second half.Sarki should come in his place and also Samson Lawal is not pulling his weight in the midfield needs to make way for someone who will bring something productive to the team in the second half.
God’s willing we shall carry the day, good luck flying eagles…

  • Proudly 9ja 11 months ago

Total concentration is needed. Agaon don’t concede an early 2nd half goal please. Argentina will get frutrated and 9ja might nick a goal

  • Ugbamaja 11 months ago

What is really happening? This guy’s can’t even hold nor pass the ball to their team make rather losing the ball to early.

  • Lord AMO 11 months ago

This is a tough watch.  Its like our boys are just on the field to run around and hope the dont score.  Slow to react, sloppy passes and just very limited ball sense when they have the ball.  Argentina aren’t much better but at least they look compact defensively and are more on the front foot

  • Proudly 9ja 11 months ago

    9ja 1 argentina 0

  • Proudly 9ja 11 months ago

People go humble again today by d grace of god

  • Lord AMO 11 months ago

Substitutions have made an immediate impact

  • Proudly 9ja 11 months ago

Personally i will bring another body to help d midfield. Take lawal out and bring d #14 please bosso. Lawal has tried today but needs to go rest for d number #14 please

    • I Have also said it. You hate the fact that Lawal is in this team for whatever reason. Sort yourself out and stop being a jackass. He is a good player and you hating him does not change that.

  • Our boys are playing against the entire stadium. Oh my goodness!

  • Proudly 9ja 11 months ago

9ja just needs to manage d next 10 mins as there will be pressure from Argentina. We need to be discipline and frustrate d argentines. We can score if d goal comes but we hold on to what we have

  • Proudly 9ja 11 months ago

Bosso please be smart and take lawal out 4 another midfielder please. Na wa 4 Bosdo ooo. We need an extra body in d midfield dat can hustle 4 d ball.

  • Proudly 9ja 11 months ago

9ja needs to manage another block of 10mins. Be smart boys, play for each other and be discipline, no unnecessary fouls

  • Lord AMO 11 months ago

The Argies have started turning the screws to ramp up the pressure.  Can our boys survive the impending onslaught? We have to be smart and be lucky

  • Proudly 9ja 11 months ago

    9ja scores again

  • Proudly 9ja 11 months ago

    Humble pie awaits 4 a 2nd time

  • Lord AMO 11 months ago

    2-0!

  • Proudly 9ja 11 months ago

Barcelona trained tactician vs a local 9ja coach and we are seeing d difference. Dem say we dey come home but we keep serving dem sweet humble pie. D team is poor, takentless, kick and follow but we are defying odds and progressing gingerly

  • Revenge for 2018 World Cup group stage elimination in the hands of Argentina right on their own doorstep.

    Thank you Bosso and boys!

  • Ugbamaja 11 months ago

Wow. The game has been confirmed won already. Up naija.

    • pompei 11 months ago

Argentina go cry taya today ooo!

      • Na serious wailing for Argentina today!!!

No matter after today’s game, this team is the best FE after the 2005 set

  • Ayphillydegreat 11 months ago

Tochukwu Nnadi is that player we’ve been looking for. He singlehandedly neutralize the Argentine midfield today. Omo i watch this game with pressure

    • Greenturf 11 months ago

You are right @Aphillydegreat.Bosso realised he was wrong not to play him from the start against Brazil

    • JimmyBall 11 months ago

@Ayphillydegreat… word!!! You see why I called for him particularly to start this game and Eletu comes in later ? I watched that Toochukwu Nnadi play in the group stage and knew he was an astute midfielder… Akinsanmiro,Daga,Eletu and Nnadi. Super Eagles midfield is assured.

Football dont lie… if you get am… you get am. Toochukwu Nnadi is straight-up ripe for Super Eagles. Calm, composed, gritty and a solid ball player. My heart goes out to Victor Eletu also, such a tenacious young midfielder.

Now as a soccer loving nation,we know what the senior players, talking of the Super Eagles have been below par since 2016 and this sort of display from our darling flying Eagles shows why some of us football afficionados believe Nigeria has players to deliver at all levels and we should stop making the national team a permanent abode of underperforming players.

    • Proudly 9ja 11 months ago

AY exactly, dat boy is a beast. He is strong and very comfortable on d ball. He in my opinion is ripe for the SE, He is very calm on d ball and plays intelligently. Daga too was immensed today,;those 2 were brilliant with d rest of d team. Kudos to dem.

    • Adeniyi 11 months ago

Where you keep Daniel Daga….he was a beast in that midfield today. All our defenders are very solid, and the subs impactful, they really changed the game. Kudos to Lasan Bosso and his boys! Haters can hate !

      • Greenturf 11 months ago

The flank players too was immense. They were helpfull tracking back to help the fullbacks to thwart the rampaging Argentine efforts.
It was indeed a collective team effort,I repeat Bosso for super eagles!!

      • Ayphillydegreat 11 months ago

Yes Daga was immense too. A real future prospect. He plays like Frank Kessie. A modern day DM. Fredrick and Ogwuche too have bright futures especially Fredrick. A typical confident ball playing defender. We have talents all around this team. Kudos to Bosso. For me the best FlyingEagles in terms of speed, athleticism, and adequate ball sense since 2005. Beji too came alive at a crucial time. I love their resolute in defending a lead. I can only wish them all the best against Ecuador or South Korea.

  • pompei 11 months ago

    Mascherano and his Nigeria wahala.
The last time he played against Nigeria, he lost 4-2, and Iwobi disgraced him, dribbling him like small pikin, before slotting the ball past his goal keeper. Iwobi showed no respect for him, even though he is much older.
Today, his U-20 side has been eliminated by Nigeria from the world cup, AT HOME, IN FRONT OF THEIR VOCIFEROUS FANS.
    Nigeria again! Dios mio!

    • Correction: the last time a bloodied Mascarano played against Nigeria, they dumped us out of the world cup.

      • pompei 11 months ago

Correction accepted. Mascherano did win that one against Nigeria. But Naija don give the guy tough time sha!

  • Isaac Oloju 11 months ago

The flying eagle are through to the Quarter finals.

  • I still stand by my pre-tournament assessment of this team as one being able to attain a podium finish in this tournament.

  • Proudly 9ja 11 months ago

9ja advances to d gfinal. We won’t get out of d group, we did. We won’t pass r16 we did again. Please doubting thomases please keep predicting doom for d team as its a blessing in disguise and they will keep progresding. Please don’t wish dem well ooo, continue predicting doom 4 dem biko oshe. Bosso don defeat two European trained tacticians ooo. Him se him get strategy to beat italy, it came to pass, he said he had a strategy to defeat argentina and he did again. Wow Bosso carry go joor, u don try. I wonder what excuse they will bring again. Maybe FIFA just gave dem hosting rights as they didnt qualify for d tournament (rranslation, argentina is bad) will b d new excuse lol. Vamis FE bravo 4 a job well done.

  • Congratulations Nigeria.

Nigeria would have beat Brazil if we used the correct formation.

  • All the players put in a great shift today. From the GK to the DF to MF and ST..
    Congrats to Bosso and crew.

  • Four four two 11 months ago

Pls what the final score. Network bad in my location. I couldn’t watch live. Just relying on comments here.

  • Wetin be this na? Daga is 16 years old? How we go take build future super eagles na?

  • Ayphillydegreat 11 months ago

Like play like play Ladan made history by becoming the first Nigerian coach to beat a South American team at the U20 WorldCup. In his second try he made it back to the Quarter Final. Can he go one further? Only time will tell. Irrespective of that lets enjoy this monumental moment. Up FlyingEagles. Where are the naysayers???

  • Chima E Samuels 11 months ago

Good win Bosso must start Eletu next match to ease the burden on Daga!!!!

  • pompei 11 months ago

I now want to hear congrats from Self Made.
Guy, you must not run ooo. Come here and congratulate Nigeria. We are waiting for you!
Kudos to Oakfield. His request has been granted a second time. Oakfield, I think you should ask the boys to bring home the cup. They seem to listen to you!

  • Bobo Colorado Springs 11 months ago

I said it earlier about the headline ( HEAVEN WEPT, FANS SILENCED, AND TEARS IN THE STADIUM AS NIGERIA ELIMINATES HOST ARGENTINA).It happened GBAM!!.

  • Papafem 11 months ago

Most Nigerian fans here are fair-weather fans. Look at the level of castigation here, even when team was dogged in approach, fighting tooth and nail to curtail the rampaging Argentines. I saw comments running the coach down, blasting the players. But once we scored and the host started chasing the game, our players suddenly became heroes. Chai….Naija fans.

What Bosso did today was what he should have done agsinst Brazil. Slow the game down, break out on the counter. And when you score, pack the bus , and release long balls for one or two players stationed at the end to run run the opponents down. That’s what brought both goals. It’s that simple. The best way to play the south American teams is to frustrate them, not play according to their strength. We played to Brazil’s strength; we lost. Argentina played the way we wanted them to play, we won. So, Bosso’s tactics worked.

A commentator here said the match is boring. So you wanted an end to end match, where we would be beaten for pace and skill, like Brazil did to us. And you will quickly run here again to give ten reasons why the team lost. It is well o. Many coaches without badges on CSN.

Congrats to the boys jare. You did well. Don’t be surprised. Italy can beat England to tell you how competitive our group was. You’ve exceeded expectations. But don’t relent. The sky is your limit.

    • Celestine 11 months ago

Boring game. Luck was on our side. We didn’t play shit. So don’t come here and be making yourself feel important.

      • Ayphillydegreat 11 months ago

Sengbo Werey. They didn’t play shit against Argentina in front of their vociferous fans?? The boys played their hearts out to get the win. No problem continue living in your doomsday.

        • Celestine 11 months ago

Whatever that means, they didn’t play shit, they were just lucky that’s all. There physique was just there greatest strength. All gra gra football.

          • Then the Argentines should hv just gotvthe luck also or do u pray ill- luck in everything u do, mind u how I wish ugbade u17 coach had prayed for such luck too

  • Dr Banks 11 months ago

Congrats to Bosso and the boys, they performed excellently well again tonight, bring back the cup guys
