Aribo Equals Iwobi’s Record In European Cup Final

Joe Aribo equaled Alex Iwobi’s record in the final of a European club competition, after scoring in the final of Wednesday’s Europa League between Rangers and Eintracht Frankfurt.

After a goalless first half, Rangers took the lead in the 57 minute after Aribo capitalized on a mistake by a Frankfurt player and slotted into the back of the net.

But in the 69th minute Rafael Borre equalized for Frankfurt after connecting with Filip Kostic cross.

The game went into penalty shootout Frankfurt won 5-4 after former Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey missed his own spot kick.

Frankfurt have become the first German team to win the UEFA Cup/Europa League since Schalke in the 1996-97 season.

And for getting on the score sheet, Aribo is just the second Nigerian to score in the final of a major European competition after Alex Iwobi (for Arsenal vs Chelsea) in the 2019 UEFA Europa League, according to OptaJoe.

Also, it was Aribo’s first European goal of the season for the former Scottish Premiership champions.

Aribo the Roman emperor is one of those players that will always force you out to comment on Nigeria football irrespective of the depressing decision making by so called administrators/ex internationals. WHAT A PLAYER IS THE BOY ARIBO? AT SUCH YOUNG AGE ,NO FRAUD, HE IS DEFINITELY NOT GOING TO BE AT RANGERS NEXT SEASON. JUST NEED A TOP TEAM, TO RANK AMONST WORLD BEST IN HIS POSITION. SOUTHGATE MUST BE BITING HARD HIS FINGERS, ON HOW HE MISSED OUT THIS ONE.
Heaven bless Aribaaaaa ARIBO and all deserving Super Eagles players. LOLZZZZ ZA ZA ZA ZA
