Joe Aribo has admitted he is highly motivated ahead of the start of new Scottish Premiership season, reports Completesports.com.
Aribo has been superb in the heart of the midfield for Rangers during their unbeaten start to the pre-season.
The Nigerian international scored a fabulous third goal in his side’s thrashing of Motherwell on Wednesday night.
He told Rangers TV : “Really, I’m self-motivated so it’s not like they are pushing me,” he said, “but it’s good to have competition because we can’t settle or slack because we will lose our place.
“Me in myself I have to find my own standards and drive my own standards but it’s good to have.”
The midfielder looks a bulkier physical presence these days, and after a tough debut season where he showed his talent in flashes, a new and improved midfielder has sprung from his lockdown training regime.
He said: “I take every game as it comes. I need to get myself ready as well as the team.
“I’m ready to go. I have been pushing.
“Since lockdown we have had individual programmes and now we are ready to go and happy to be back.”
