Arsenal Starlet Pens New Deal

Arsenal forward Tyreece John-Jules has put pen to paper on a new contract at the Emirates. The 18-year-old is yet to make a senior appearance for the north London club but has been with Unai Emery’s squad during pre-season.

Indeed, he hit the back of the net in a friendly against Al-Nasr in Dubai earlier this year and has impressed with the Under-23s.

John-Jules, who can play in a number of roles across the forward line, scored six times in 17 appearances for the youth team in 2018-19, while he netted twice in the EFL Trophy.

He is unlikely to force his way into the first-team set-up in 2019-20 following the acquisition of Nicolas Pepe, but Arsenal clearly feel he has a bright future. Arsenal said in a statement: “Everyone at the club would like to congratulate Tyreece on his new contract and we look forward to his continued development. “The deal is subject to the completion of regulatory processes.”
