Arsenal Targeting Double January Swoop For Isco, Aouar

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is reportedly eyeing a double January swoop for Real Madrid star Isco and Lyon’s Houssem Aouar.

According to Defensa Central, via Team Talk, Arsenal chief wants to sign both midfielders but the north Londoners can only afford one.

The report adds that Arsenal are set to deny Arteta’s request for two creative arrivals as they spent big on Thomas Partey in the summer.

Arsenal are desperate to sign a creative midfielder in the New Year having scored just 11 goals in 13 games in the Premier League this term.

Gunners chief Edu admitted this week the club are in dire need of a spark in the middle – after freezing out top earner Mesut Ozil.

Isco has been linked with following the German from Real Madrid to north London after his agent confirmed he is looking for a new challenge abroad.

The 28-year-old – who has started just three games in LaLiga this season – is believed to be attracting interest from Arsenal and Manchester City.

But the ex-Malaga star, who is tied down at Los Blancos until 2022, could price himself out of a switch with his wage demands.

Aouar meanwhile has been attracting attention from Paris Saint-Germain following his continued good form for Lyon.

Arsenal tracked the playmaker for much of the summer window but failed to land their top target.

Aouar rejected all offers to leave Lyon and committed to the club who first signed him at the age of 11.

He explained in October: “I felt that I could still bring things to this team and the club, it’s that simple.

“I wanted to continue the adventure with the club that raised me.”

Ummmh… Another Spanish for English league. Just don’t think Spanish talents are pulling their weight in the English league, most possibly they are not cut out for the physical side of football or probably language difficulty.
