Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has disclosed that he almost slapped Bukoya Saka after he missed a penalty in the early minutes of the game against Real Madrid in the Champions League.
Recall that Saka spurned the chance to put Arsenal in front early on and stopped his side from leading 4-0 on aggregate.
However, he redeemed his image, when he scored the opening goal as the Gunners won 2-1 at the Santiago Bernabeu, to qualify on a 5-1 aggregate on Wednesday.

Speaking with the club’s website, Arteta stated that he almost slapped the England international for the penalty miss against Real Madrid.
“I didn’t want to die but maybe I wanted to slap him,” Arteta joked.
“He made that decision, he was bold enough to do it and he missed. I was more concerned about the emotional part. What it could do for us.”
