Atletico Madrid Interested In Super Eagles Striker Onuachu

Spanish La Liga champions Atletico Madrid have identified Super Eagles and Genk striker Paul Onuachu as a top transfer target this summer.

Onuachu has been in great form for Belgian side Genk for the past two seasons.

He has scored 21 goals in 37 games in all competitions for the Belgian outfit this season.

Currently, he is third in the Belgian league’s goal scorers chart with 19 strikes.

Last season he won the Belgian Pro League golden boot with 33 goals in 38 games.

With Atletico Madrid marksman Luis Suarez’s goal output seemingly waning, Atletico might be in need of another striker next season.

The Uruguayan has netted 11 goals in 31 league outings for the Madrid club this term.

And according to Atletico Universe on Twitter, Diego Simeone’s club are interested in Onuachu.

“Paul Onuachu is in Atletico Madrid’s radar. The striker can leave Genk for €15m.”

Meanwhile the Laliga champions are currently second in Laliga with 61 points from 33 games.

  • I bet it that club will make him a better player that Nigeria will run after…

  • This is not possible. His style of play doesn’t suit the above mentioned team. Let’s stop over hyping our players as to allow them focus in building there career.

Listen man, Onuachu cant compete in Europe. For the past time while he was in Genk he didn’t really do anything or scored enough goals in top competitions. He may do well in the Belgian league, but he will get shut down during European competitions. Happened in the champions league and europa league, dude couldn’t score against west ham, some of west ham players were from the bench. If he goes to atletico madrid while under Simione, he will do even worse. Athletico madrid is contagious, go at your own risk. Joao Felix was scoring in the Portuguese league, now he cant even score in la liga. Griezmann cant score for barcelona and for his former team. I remember they were throwing out news to make Thomas Lemar look bad for not scoring, he scored in Monaco and their were creating schemes to sell him, but nobody cared. Saul went to chelsea on loan and cant even adapt. If it was me, ill reject. I wont risk my career for one team that is the only chance to get into the top 5 leagues in Europe. Atheltico madrid is defense, thats it, they dont care about scoring.

This might be his agents flying a kite.
After trying and failing to land a blockbuster move for him, 3rd time is the charm, perhaps?
