The 62-year-old was previously designated as the new coach of the Super Eagles before contract negotiations broke down.

Three other candidates: Phillip Cocu, Laurent Blanc and Ernesto Valverde were also shortlisted for the post.

The Sports Ministry want a level playing field for all the shortlisted coaches and has directed the NFF to invite them to Nigeria for interview.

The NFF are however not willing to back down on their decision and ready to stick with Peseiro.

That’s where the problem comes, Glass House. The assumed Laurent Blanc,Philip Cocu and Ernesto Valverde will be too expensive and truely didn’t give them a chance to stake their claims.
I mean this 3 above mentioned person’s personally applied for this Job, it means they know what they are coming for. If the NFF thinks they are too expensive, it also shows that these person’s knew Nigeria isn’t as Rich as Other Arabian or European Countries but still Applied for the Job because they feel something good can come out from this set of SE squad.

My Advise the Ministry shouldn’t stoop so low to this Amaju Man’s favorite pick. Out of all these people Peseiro is the least qualified on Paper and the most Qualified due to vast experience is Laurent Blanc!!!!

Nigeria is gone. Nothing is working in the country at the moment.

Bad news every day. These carbals have destroyed Nigeria. Am not in support of Paseiro in the first place because he has no good record. Same way Amaju brought Oga Rohr to Nigeria.

Super have never enjoyed good goalies for the past six years of the gaffer and that made Nigeria lost out in the world cup qualifiers against Ghana.

Hiring a coach shouldn’t be a problem but because there’s no transparency in the system, this is where the bad attitude brought Nigerian leaders to.

We have government in Nigeria but it doesn’t look like we have one. The best thing is to kick out the current NFF members out of their offices period.

What a country. Shio. Too bad. Fingers crossed. God bless Nigeria!!!

They shortlisted four coaches and settled for the weakest among them.

I guess the NFF has signed a pact with the demon of failure. They hate to succeed.

On second thoughts, they are settling for Paseiro because he is the only one in the list that they feel they can manipulate. Secondly, the man or his agent may have greased some palms in the glass house (don’t tell me oyibos are saints).

I am beginning to h@te these people running our football.

THIS IS NOT THE FIRST TIME THERE WILL BE DISAGREEMENT BETWEEN NFF AND SPORT MINISTER.
BUT AT THE END WHAT COMES OUT OF IT DISASTER AND FAILURE.
THE PROBLEM OF US IN THIS COUNTRY IS EGOISM (na me dey there, na me dey in charge), INSTEAD OF WORKING IN SOLIDARITY WE PREFER TO BE DICTATING & CONTROLLING.
AS TIME IS NOT WAITING FOR NOBODY, NO SUBSTANTIVE COACH FOR SUPER EAGLE YET. BEFORE YOU KNOW SIERA-LEONE WILL BEAT US HOME AND AWAY. AND STARTING MAKE FIRE-BRIDAGE APPROACH AND BEGIN TO PRAY TO GOD THAT SAO-TOME SHOULD HELP US TO BEAT GUINEA-BISSAO FOR US TO QUALIFY.
ALL THESE PEOPLE (both NFF & Sport MINISTER) PREFER WHAT WILL FAVOUR THEM (selfish interest) NOT FOR INTEREST OF NIGERIA

  • I believe with a good tactician, these present set players in SE will rule d world but Nff alway s want settle for mediocrity…

Why didn’t they disagree over the untimely sacking of Rohr?

Both the NFF and sport ministry are corrupt. And the sport ministry very very clueless about football.

The whole plan was just to use this coaches to make Nigerians interested and carried away, then from the blue they’ll cajole a story for the media to tell why they’re settling with Peseiro because he loves Nigeria football and knows our players. Huh Nigerians never start to witness anything Pinnick is a very clever Gameboy. Except he is weeded then I don’t know what will happen to the leftover damages. Now I understand why the team doesn’t progress past average and can sometimes loose to any team!

    @Choma, you are spot-on.
Picnic comments and actions are enough justification to decipher the whole plans.
Like Ighalo and other bribery, Pesseiro agents dont enter one chance!!
Applications from Cocu, Ververde and Blanc caught them by surprise. They didn’t see it coming and now they will look for every excuse to carry out their plans.
Picnic and his executhieves should just resign.

@Larry, I like this coinage “executhieves.” Couldn’t control my laughter…..

Picnic is just another word for failure cos I don’t see why settle for the less.we have the players home and abroad but we lack good coaching and corrupt NFF.same reason why we didn’t qualify for the world cup.we should go for a good coach. Now is the time to build a team cos all this nonsense got to stop playing with our football and making money for deer pocket

This set of NFF are hypocrites, how can you initiate constitution in ejection of foreign coaches and the number of assistance they bring but can’t seem to use the same constitution when it comes to them appointing coaches and give all parties a fair ground the Sports ministry are right on this one,the NFF must adhere to the due process governing our football and stop cherry picking coaches.this just goes to show and expose the inadequacies surrounding the Pinnick led NFF.

Sport ministry got this one spot on poseiro is not the right person for Nigeria football he is another failure in the making how can you pick this below par coach when they are better and more experienced tactician who have done well in football apply for this job. NFF is corrupt that’s the meaning if they know that pos attendant salary is 15k and they still apply that shows they are aware of what they are going for and it’s not all about the money but to get the best from this players and make them a solid winning team. NFF should be dissolved abeg nothing good will come out from picnic he is just riding Nigeria football on the floor.

  • pompei 2 years ago

    Wazza Dazzler sports minister,
Please insist on only the very best candidate. If the NFF continue to insist on Peseiro, LET THEM PAY HIM THEMSELVES. The government should not fund his salary by a single kobo!
Ahn ahn! What kind of nonsense is this!
We now see that this NFF is the main problem of Nigeria football.
    E LE WON JADE!!!

  • Why not Valverde to me he is a good pick
    My opinion though
I’m happy someone of Valverde caliber is dropping application to coach Super Eagles a good sign
Posero or wat ever dey call him is no better than Rhor I don’t like d way he is linked to Mourinho also it means we going for a boring style of play defensive game and dat for sure won’t take us anywhere especially against big teams like France,Spain,Italy and The rest

  • Chibuike 2 years ago

God bless sports minister. Baba kabiesi. Please probe FA chairman men and all those NFF big shoe. All of them na thief. How can you emplore second class coach? So Nigeria as gaint of Africa don’t deserve world class coach like Dunga OF Brazil with track record? Na Cameroonian former coach una wan emplore.

  • You guys don’t get it.An established coach like the ones been mentioned would not pay them their share of the bogus salary because they have a reputation to protect.

Paserio looks desperate and Pinnick want to have a final swansong as he has been forced out.

He can easily strike a deal with paserio and the coach needed a platform to launch himself which the eagles will provide. So it is a case of scratch my back I scratch yours between him and Pinnick
