USA professional basketball players Steph Curry, Kevin Durant, and Anthony Edwards were tested for doping and other substances after the conclusion of the Paris 2024 Olympic Men’s Basketball Tournament final.
Team USA defeated host nation France 98-87 to win the gold medal.
Narrating the team’s experience after winning the gold medal, Edwards, during an interview with Boardroom, said that their euphoria was short-lived. He revealed that they were called away for a post-game drug tests.

“We couldn’t even really celebrate in the locker room, for real, because me, him [Durant], and Steph had to take a drug test or something,” Edwards shared in a conversation on Boardroom.
When asked why he chose basketball over football, Edwards said his brother Bobby inspired him to pursue a career in basketball.
“I was super good at football growing up; that was the only thing on my mind. You know, growing up with my brothers, you always want to be like them,” he added.
“My older brother wasn’t really into sports, but my middle brother, Bobby, was way better at basketball, and I always wanted to be better than he ever was.”
It can be recalled that during the Paris Olympics Men’s Basketball Final, Durant showcased a sterling performance, scoring 15 points, while Edwards recorded 8 points. Curry became the cynosure of all eyes, scoring 24 points, including four clutch three-pointers, leading Team USA to victory over France.
Curry was also crucial in the semifinal, scoring 36 points — nine of them from three-pointers — along with eight rebounds and two assists in a narrow win against Nikola Jokic’s Serbia.
