Cardiff City left-back Joe Bennett has heaped praise on the club for their support following his father’s death in January. The left-back admits he has struggled to cope at times after his father Adrian died on January 26 from a heart attack.

Bennett admits he has had no time to grieve and the news came at the same time as the horrific Emiliano Sala tragedy. Cardiff’s squad, staff and board have all helped Bennett through the tragedy and he admits he owes the club a great deal.
He told Wales Online: “Training and playing takes my mind off things. “The boys have been unbelievable with me as well as the gaffer. “Everyone connected with Cardiff has been really supportive and it’s been really nice — really touching actually.”
