Besiktas Make Move For Canaries Target

Besiktas have tabled a offer for reported Norwich City target Jamilu Collins, but Paderborn feel it is nowhere near enough. The Canaries were understood to be interested in the 24-year-old Nigeria international earlier this summer after being impressed with his displays at the Africa Cup of Nations.

Kicker claimed City officials actually watched him play during the tournament in Egypt but no move has yet materialised. Jamal Lewis is well established as Norwich boss Daniel Farke’s first-choice left-back and the club brought in Philip Heise fro Dynamo Dresden in January as further cover.

However, the 28-year-old German has yet to make a competitive first-team appearance for the club since his arrival and his displays in pre-saeson have been far from convincing. Collins played 34 games for Paderborn in the 2.

Bundesliga last season as the German club secured an incredible promotion to the top flight. The value of the Besiktas bid is not known but Paderborn sporting director Martin Przondziono, without wanting to reveal numbers, said: “It’s not what we imagine.”
